The last time Chip Ambres was seen in a Mets uniform he was hitting a walk-off, game winning hit.In 2007, Ambres appeared in three games ( 3 AB) for the Mets in which he had the one hit and RBI.The 29 y/o right handed outfielder has appeared in 80 major league games between the Royals, Mets and Padres with a BA of .233.The former 1998 first round pick ( 27th ) of the Florida Marlins has spent the bulk of the last five years in AAA where he's batted .268, with an OBP of .363 and a Slg. pct. of .462.The three day window has expired for Emil Brown and there's no word of him reporting to Buffalo, so I'm guessing he refused assignment. Just prior to last night's game it was reported that the Mets had reacquired Chip Ambres from the Boston Red Sox's and assigned him to AAA (source MLBTR). It looks like Ambres will fill the void left by Brown as the AAAA outfielder waiting for a call-up opportunity...
