The Pittsburgh Panthers held up their end of the deal. They came into South Bend and gave the Notre Dame Fighting Irish a game. For regulation and three overtimes the game was in doubt. It wasn't quite epic, but it was entertaining. Fumbles, missed field goals, interceptions and a horrendous call highlighted a battle fought hard and long. In the end the Irish came away with a victory. It wasn't pretty but in the end they are still undefeated. The good, the bad and the ugly were in constant flux. But after three overtimes, they distinguished themselves. But remember, this isn't your parents good, bad and ugly. We are here to redefine and highlight who has been good and who has been bad. And sometimes it is better to let ugly take care of itself.

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is trying to keep the fourth-ranked Irish focused going into their game against Pittsburgh.
Kelly is telling the unbeaten Irish to skip any discussion about being in the national championship picture. He's avoiding talking about how the last Irish team to start 8-0 stumbled at this point. And he's trying to get the Irish to play better at Notre...

Earlier in the week, Fighting Irish super fan Tracey Moore decided to get Notre Dame's famous "Golden Dome" tattooed on the back of his head.
The tattoo itself took nearly nine hours to complete at the Michiana Tattoo Emporium in Niles,...

One name that has been repeatedly mentioned as a potential Spaz replacement is Notre Dame Defensive Coordinator Bob Diaco. BC will get a first hand look at the candidate this week. Here's the open thread y'all. Not sure how much I'll be on this one today. Doing some traveling and may wreck the car watching it on my phone. You know me well enough to know that this is 99.9% true.
Since the Discover Fan Loyalty Poll launched back in September, college football fans have been in agreement that the Alabama Crimson Tide were the best team in the country. In fact, it was the fans who knew that the Tide were better than teams such as the USC Trojans even before the AP Top 25 and the BCS Standings fell in line. While some of the other teams have fallen in and out...

Notre Dame received a crucial pledge from top-notch cornerback prospect Cole Luke Thursday, giving the 2013 Irish class an essential threesome at the position. Turning that trio into a quartet might not be a bad idea.
Its survive and advance time for Notre Dame, but improvement over the next three weeks will determine if the 2012 season is special, or merely notable in comparison to the recent past.
