The Tennessee Volunteers take on the Oregon Ducks on Saturday, and both programs will be busting out some revamped uniforms for the occasion.
BEST OF MAXIM
Jake Fisher in 2012. Oregon junior lineman Jake Fisher dipped into the sarcasm closet a little during an interview with CSN Northwest discussing the Ducks' upcoming game against Tennessee. Instead of going just snarky on the Vols' (which would have been easy, considering the past few seasons in Knoxville), he decided to take on the whole flipping conference. Some of...
Oregon fans don’t seem to be satisfied with their SEC matchup at the current moment. The Ducks are absolutely manhandling the Tennessee Volunteers, 38-7, promptings fans in Eugene to start mocking UT with chants of “S-E-C” and “We Want Bama”. It seems every time Oregon scores, the student section has another cheer lined up:
If the Ducks keep this up, they’ll get them...
Yes, I wrote the title without chuckling--I'm dead serious. I do believe that the lovely ladies of the Oregon Ducks cheerleading squad are a key component to the popularity of the football team.
Why? Because the team plays so many soft opponents (Nichols and Virginia are not even close to being in the same class as the Ducks) that the games are blown out early and kind...
Suspended Tennessee Volunteers defensive lineman Maurice Couch took to Twitter on Friday to apologize for letting so many people down.
The only thing better than a poster of cheerleaders is a video of those same cheerleaders posing for the poster.
Even if y…

EUGENE, Ore. – It may have taken a few minutes for the Oregon Ducks to wake up in an early starting game against Tennessee because the Volunteers jumped out to a 7-0 lead. However, the Ducks roared back with 38 unanswered points and the rout is on.
In his weekly Sunday teleconference with the local media, Mark Helfrich clarified his policy regarding disclosing player injury and illness information and why he replied "circumstances" when asked to explain Colt Lyerla's absence from Saturday's game.
The Ducks have a team policy of not discussing player injuries or illnesses, the coach said.
Bane in pain, and...
Freshman tight end Johnny Mundt had already impressed his Oregon coaches and teammates with his work ethic.
Against Tennessee, he impressed everyone else, too.
Mundt subbed for absent tight end Colt Lyerla against the Volunteers on Saturday and had five catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns. The Ducks defeated Tennessee 59-14 to remain No. 2 in the Associated Press poll.
Marcus Mariota had a career-high 456 yards passing as #2 Oregon rolled to a 59-14 win over Tennessee this afternoon in Autzen Stadium. The sophomore Heisman Trophy candidate tossed four touchdowns in the win, 23-33 passing with 4 touchdowns.
Mariota shook off a 2-8 start and had 350 yards by halftime. He left the game with 5 minutes to go in third quarter and the Ducks up 52-7....
From coaches' comments during the week, here are three keys to the game versus Virginia:
Super Mario must be super
Scott Frost said this week that Marcus Mariota has been making good decisions on his throws this season, but the Ducks' passing game has been plagued by drops, breakdowns in protection and play calls that didn't work.
On Wednesday he told Rob Moseley...

Tennessee dominated the game for the first six minutes. They forced a three and out from the Oregon offense, shut down the Ducks without any points after giving up a fumble, drove 80 yards in six plays for a 7-0 lead with 9:00 to play in the first quarter.
The visitors looked poised and in command, and at that point, the Ducks looked flat and disorganized. A block in the back penalty...
Scott Frost, settling into his role as Oregon's offensive coordinator, pitched a masterful game yesterday. He worked the corners and blazed letter-high fastballs. He mixed in biting curves and a clever change of pace. He looked like a veteran pitcher in the heat of a pennant race, and the Ducks look ready for the September stretch drive on the eve of a bye week. September 28th...
EUGENE, Ore. -- After setting a personal record of 465 yards of passing which resulted in four touchdowns plus rushing for an additional TD, Oregon sophomore quarterback Marcus Mariota spoke to media during the post-game interviews.
Oregon Ducks lineman Jake Fisher appears to be complimenting the SEC, but really he's just being hilariously sarcastic with Tennessee headed to Eugene.
