PLAYERS: Paul Pierce
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
Paul Pierce is just awesome at life. Not only is the guy one of the greatest Celtics of all time, but now he is also helping out his fellow Celtic fans in the love department. "Pierce tweeted his gift suggestion, a “Celeb Call” from none other than himself." Valentines Day is an awkward holiday. Guys feel a lot of pressure to go all out because those are the expectations that have been set by the world/Hallmark. Girls probably worry about there man screwing up, or that the gift they receivereflects how their man feels(it doesn't we just are clueless). The reality is, it is what happens between Valentines Day and Christmas that really shows a true "good" relationship. What  you give a girl on a random Wednesday in July means more than a Christmas or Valentines Day gift. Not that I'm an expert or anything, but I do watch a lot of Romance movies. So, would you want Pierce to call your Valentine? What would you want him to say to him/her? My ideal Valenti...

Paul Pierce has been playing through a pinched nerve for two months

Possibly lost in all of the KG "retirement" hoopla last night, was the news that Celtics captain Paul Pierce has been playing through a pinched nerve in his neck for the past two months. The news was originally reported by C's President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge during a 2nd quarter sit down with Mike & Tommy, a weird move considering Pierce himself hadn...

Celtics’ Paul Pierce playing through pinched nerve

Boston Celtics guard Paul Pierce has been playing through pain this season, as the veteran is suffering from a pinched nerve in his neck, reports Jessica Camerato of CSN New England."It's something that's been bothering me probably like the last two months," Pierce said after the Celtics 71-69 win over the Chicago Bulls. "It's getting better, though. The...

Paul Pierce plans to rest during the All-Star break.

5 Things Celtics must do to win tonight - Bulls 2/13

Tonight, the Celtics will hope to enter All-Star Weekend on a high note when they host the Bulls. The Bulls currently sit at 30-21 and fourth place in the eastern conference. The Celtics currently sit at 27-24 and seventh in the conference. The Celtics are coming off possibly their worst loss of the season with a 94-91 loss Monday night to the Bobcats. This mixed with the season...

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce Lead Celtics Into West Coast Adventure

Forget about the shroud of uncertainty surrounding the Boston Celtics thanks to trade rumors and injury concerns circulating this season. It seems as though the veteran ball club has done everything in their power to stave off the doubt and not only maintain their legitimacy in the Eastern Conference, but improve their NBA odds in the process. With a five-game West Coast swing on...

Kevin Garnett hints at retirement

Boston Celtics center Kevin Garnett signed a three-year, $36 million contract extension this offseason.  But following the Celtics win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night, Garnett hinted that

There’s a New Big Three in Town

As the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets stood by eagerly, while officials gathered around the replay monitor, I couldn’t help but be overcome with a strong sense of déjà vu. The Celtics led 92-90 with little under four seconds to play. The Nuggets’ Kenneth Faried had just missed two potential game-tying free throws, Andre Miller failed to make good on the team’s 1,039...

Comments from the Other Side - Bobcats 2/11

Bobcats fans seem like a decent bunch.  They are sticking with their team through all the lean years, which says a lot.   They also felt bad when Barbosa went down unlike several other teams whose fans would be cheering (or wishing for) an injury on the Celtics.   While I hate to lose any game, this one wasn't too bad.  They were competitive right to the end in spite of...

Celtics Streak Ends in Loss to Bobcats 94-91

On Monday night the Celtics were in Charlotte for their second of back-to-back games. The Celtics extended their win streak to 7 on Sunday in a triple overtime victory against the Nuggets. Looking ahead many saw this game as an easy win but that changed drastically after the three overtime game Sunday. The Celtics ran out of gas in the fourth and fell victim to the trap game 94-91...

Post-Rondo Winning Streak Comes To An End As Celtics Run Out Of Gas In Charlotte

Bobcats 94, Celtics 91 Like an old cagey fighter, the Celtics (27-24) waited for an opportunity to deliver a sudden knockout punch against a younger, better rested, and hungrier team in Charlotte. Boston hung around after pouring everything they had into Sunday night’s triple overtime victory over the Nuggets. They kept the game manageable, rested Paul Pierce and K.G. for most...

Bobcats 94, Celtics 91: Win streak ends, Barbosa might be out for season

Clearly, that was how the winning streak was meant to end, at the hands of the Charlotte Bobcats, with Byron Mullens feigning dominance, after a final-minute four-point lead disappeared and Ramon Sessions hit a game-winning jumper and Paul Pierce — who clearly, in all his OG-ness, would have drilled that 3-pointer Sunday night — came up short while Avery Bradley missed Boston’s...

RedsArmy presents: FanFriday #40 “CelticNation Mississippi”

Here’s a short profile of my man Ricas from Canton, Mississippi. After the all-star break, we’ll have another edition of “Celebrity Fan Friday“.. Ricas grew up in the 1980′s, so he is a big fan of the Bird, McHale & Parish era: I’ve been a Celtics fan since I was 11 years old. Growing-up, I remember watching Larry Bird and Magic battle for supremacy in the 80′s...

Recap: Celtics survive slopfest with Chicago

This baby loves the slop, eats it up. Eats the slop, born to slop… How the hell do you capture the true essence of tonight’s victory? The Celtics stunk less? Screw that, I’m going to channel my inner grit-and-balls and put a positive spin on this mess. The Celtics scratched and clawed their way back from miserable 2nd and 3rd quarters to beat Chicago, 71-69. A 7 point 4th quarter...

Your Morning Dump… Where this will be KG’s last All-Star dance

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Kevin Garnett said last night that his 14th All-Star Game appearance on Sunday in Houston will also be his last, though the Celtics forward stopped short of saying he was retiring at the end of the season. Garnett...

Boston Celtics beat Chicago Bulls by using same pick-and-roll set on consecutive possessions.

Defense ruled the day, but it was Boston's offense that sealed the game down the stretch. In last night’s nail-biter against Chicago, points were predictably at a premium between two very talented, very defense-oriented teams. So when the Celtics were able to produce field goals on three consecutive possessions late in the fourth quarter, giving themselves a lead they would...
