Darvish began walking off the mound and Pierzynski started heading...

By Jesse Johnson-US Presswire Rangers’ slugger Adrian Beltre got caught sneaking around Sunday afternoon as he was attempting to advance on a Alex Rios ground ball on the left side.  Beltre didn’t wait for Astros third baseman, Matt Dominguez, to make the easy play at first.  Instead he caught Beltre in a rundown.  A rundown that headed toward left field.  Take a look:...

Did Umpire Blow Call In Yu Darvish Perfect Game Bid?(Video)

Another example of just what a ‘joy’ the element of human error is. Rangers ace Yu Darvish was making a bid for history in Monday’s game versus the Astros. In the bottom of the 6th, looking for his 12th strikeout of the game against Jonathan Villar with two outs, Darvish threw a low breaking ball, which he thought was good enough to be strike 3. Both Darvish and catch AJ...

Rios joins Rangers, to start Saturday

Alex Rios has moved from one of the worst teams in the American League to one of the best, and he couldn't be happier about it. Rios, who was acquired by Texas from the Chicago White Sox on Friday, joined the Rangers on Saturday and was inserted into the lineup against the Houston Astros batting sixth and playing right field. ''It's an exciting move, it is a refreshing...

Neftali Feliz suffers setback

Texas Rangers pitcher Neftali Feliz was supposed to make his first rehab appearance Saturday at Triple A Round Rock but that didn’t happen. Feliz suffered a small setback in his rehabilitation. The Rangers scratched Feliz as a precaution as he was suffering from “mild triceps tendinitis”. Neftali Feliz was scheduled to pitch Saturday for Triple A Round Rock, but was scratched...

Alex Rios Trade Good for Both Sides, Means White Sox Officially Have Fingerprints All Over AL Playoff Race

White Sox general manager Rick Hahn must really want to watch an interesting stretch run. The White Sox aided another playoff contender Friday when they sent outfielder Alex Rios to the Rangers in exchange for a player to be named later. Chicago now has its fingerprints all over the American League pennant race — even if it isn’t going to be involved — and also has some sense...

Rangers keep rolling, rally for 9-5 win over Astros

Jurickson Profar simply wanted to get on base and bring in the go-ahead run with the score tied and two outs in the eighth inning. A walk would get it done just as much as a base hit. And Profar managed to win an eight-pitch at-bat against Astros reliever Wesley Wright. Profar had a 3-1 count fouled off three straight fastballs and then took ball four down in the zone to drive in...

Rangers roll past Astros

While my life has been rolling along, so has the Rangers’ winning streak.  I was delighted to check scores during my busy weekend and see my boys swept their in-state rivals, the Astros.  Oh, and they picked up another outfielder too. Alex Rios joined the team Friday as they headed to Houston.  He got to watch the offense put on a little show, taking a 9-5 victory in the opener...

Daily SP Rankings: Monday, August 12

Yu Darvish is projected to go 6 2/3 innings in tonight’s start against the Astros, yet he’s projected for a robust 10 Ks and is far and away the day’s best option. Ricky Nolasco is the day’s other notable pitching option, one that’s probably readily available on free agency in most leagues (and whom I added myself for today).Take a look at today’s ratings, and as always...
