Peyton Manning will play his first game as a member of the Denver Broncos at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The contest is just one of four primetime games in the NFL's kickoff week for the 2012 season. The New York Giants will open the 2012 regular season at home against the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys. That game will be played on Wednesday, Sept. 5 on NBC. Over the last decade, the league has begun the season on a Thursday, but elected to avoid a conflict with President Barack Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention. The Monday night doubleheader features Cincinnati visiting AFC North rival Baltimore and San Diego traveling to AFC West rival Oakland. The NFL will also begin Thursday night games in Week 2 as Chicago faces NFC North rival Green Bay. The league also announced its Thanksgiving Day menu as Houston visits Detroit, Washington travels to NFC East rival Dallas and New England faces the host New York Jets in the late game.
