Rick Pitino is frequently maligned for the job he did during his tenure with the Boston Celtics. Pitino had a 102-146 record with the Celtics. “You know, I traded Chauncey Billups and then he was traded two more times," said Pitino. "And he eventually landed on his feet and became the point guard he knew he could be. Of all the stops I made, Boston probably molded me into the coach I wanted to become. So for me, it wasn’t a negative experience, it was a very positive one, one that made me complete as a coach.”

What to Expect From Kris Humphries in 2013-14

Tim MacLean (@TimMacLean_) Prior to falling out of favor in Brooklyn last season, Kris Humphries was one of the few players in the league that exemplified what it meant to be a walking double-double. Humphries achieved the aforementioned feat during both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons while playing starter’s minutes for the then-New Jersey Nets. And his 10.4 and 11.0 rebounds...

What to Expect From MarShon Brooks in 2013-14

Sloan Piva One of the most intriguing new additions to the Celtics roster, MarShon Brooks could be a delight to watch this season. The 24-year-old, previously drafted by the Celtics in 2011 then carelessly traded for JaJuan Johnson, could be here to stay now. He's young, he's cheap, he's quick and he does a lot of things well. He's got long arms, which helps on defense...

What if Boston hired Jeff Hornacek instead of Doc Rivers back in 2004?

Over the weekend the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn wrote about the rebuilding process facing Phoenix's new GM Ryan McDonough (left), whom the Suns hired away from Boston back in May.  Upon his arrival the first order of business for McDonough was to find a new Head Coach, with Jeff Hornacek (right) getting the nod.  Washburn's article states: “I heard great things...

Do you forgive Rick Pitino?

On Sunday, Rick Pitino was inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame. His induction had everything to do with his performance as a college coach, and absolutely nothing to do with his time with the Celtics. But that didn't stop Pitino from talking about the Cs for over five minutes. Here are some of the highlights, courtesy Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. Pitino devised...

Why Chauncey Billups’ return to Motown is so important

Chauncey Billups is one of the most beloved figures in Detroit Pistons history. In 2008, Billups was traded away in a deal that sent him to Denver in exchange for Allen Iverson, a trade that the Pistons have been reeling from ever since. It was a...
