Hall of Very Good:
"Puigmania" is already running rampant in Los Angeles. So...why would life be any different for the Dodgers super rookie on his maiden voyage to the Big Apple?
Monday night, Yasiel Puig hit up Jay-Z's 40/40 Club and took part in its tenth anniversary party. And by the looks of it, dude was a hit (get it!) with many of the club's guests.
Puig even has the photographic evidence to back it up!!
But here's the thing, is the 22-year-old out there asking for pictures...or was it the other way around?
Sure, Puig was is in New York to take on the Yankees, but it was all smiles for the young outfielder when he bumped into two of the Bronx Bombers' biggest stars...pitcher CC Sabathia and second baseman Robinson Cano.
Suffice it to say, these pictures (even if they are with the enemy) are far better for Dodger fans to swallow than the one that hit the internets two months ago.
BEST OF MAXIM
Yasiel Puig has been the talk of baseball since being called up by the Los Angeles Dodgers two weeks ago. The 22-year-old Cuban phenom is batting .479/.500/.771 with four home runs in 13 games since joining the big club straight from Double-A. He won NL Player of the Week in his first week and quickly [...]
The Hollywood worthy script of the young career of Yasiel Puig is being written with every swing of the bat so far through his first 13 games as a Major Leaguer. The next chapter in this seemingly legendary tale will be written amongst the most hallowed of baseball cathedrals, Yankee Stadium.
Puig burst onto the scene with his promotion with four homers in first five games. He had...
There has been a lot of rabble going into the All-Star Game next month about Dodgers rookie phenom Yasiel Puig potentially getting named to the team after just 15 games. Bruce Bochy of the Giants, manager of this year's NL squad, said he'd be hard-pressed to add Puig to the roster. And honestly, I can see both sides of the argument on this one.
Puig has been sensational...
The most exciting play in baseball, within context, is presumably the walk-off grand slam with two outs and a three-run deficit. Within context, I imagine it’s almost a perfect correlation between play excitement and Win Probability Added. This is why WPA works as both a baseball statistic and emotion statistic. Any immediate reversal of deficit to victory is going to be outstanding...
Yasiel Puig has been so impressive in his limited time in the bigs, there have been calls from some people to put the phenom in the All-Star Game. San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy, who will manage the NL All-Star squad, says Puig making the All-Star team is a “long shot.” Puig is not on [...]

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the Cerberus of the sports world. A three-headed monster with the wallet of a Steinbrenner, the media draw of LeBron James, and the propensity to fail of every talented-but-evil team in the final minutes of a sports movie. What could possibly go wrong?
Don’t ask fans in L...
Just to touch briefly on it…
Chris Capuano pitched six shutout innings in his return from the disabled list. Hanley Ramirez and Andre Ethier continued their hot hitting. The Dodgers put two runs on the board before the seats were even re-warmed for the second game of their double header with the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
Oh, and Yasiel Puig hit another home run. This was probably...
As we near the halfway point in the 2013 Major League Baseball season, I thought we would look at the Rookie of the Year race. We last looked at the race in early May and there was some strong competition with the Cardinals’ Shelby Miller. That competition still exists and a new candidate has joined the fray, Yasiel Puig. Let’s take a look at who the top candidates are after...
Updates on the major news across Major League Baseball during the 11th week of the season. Dodgers sensation Yasiel Puig was named National League Player of the Week.
SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Newcomer Pedro Ciriaco tripled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and hit a two-run homer in the eighth to lead the San Diego Padres to a 6-3 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night. The Padres, who had three terrific defensive plays, won for the eighth time in 10 games and popped above .500 for the second time this season. Dodgers...
Ben and Sam discuss their expectations for Zack Wheeler and other young pitchers, then talk about the true story behind the Dodgers signing Yasiel Puig.
Ben and Sam talk about a pair of All-Star candidates, then discuss Royals GM Dayton Moore`s comments about Kauffman Stadium suppressing walks.
Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly insists that there are “enough at-bats to go around,” and also that a demotion for Yasiel Puig is “not going to happen.” Assuming the latter is true, and it most certainly should be considering the start to Puig’s career, the question becomes, how exactly does Mattingly intend to spread around enough at-bats for the likes of Matt Kemp, Carl...
Pick explanations will be coming at 12:15 pm EST today, but I wanted to get my lineups out before noon. Enjoy!I didn’t get a chance to post my lineup yesterday, but I did enter a contest and came away with a third-place victory on the strength of my team’s 46.25 points. Madison Bumgarner scored 17, Yasiel Puig had 11.5, Manny Machado was good for 7.5, and Michael Bourn got in...
Hanley Ramirez capped a six-hit day with a pair of RBI singles,
Yasiel Puig homered to complete a dazzling debut in New York and
the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Yankees 6-0 Wednesday for a split
of their day-night doubleheader.
