photo via Yahoo NBA The Celtics pasted the Portland Trailblazers at TD Garden tonight, 96-78. Courtney Lee and Jeff Green both stepped-up, and Kevin Garnett was vintage KG. He scored his 10 points on a variety of bank shots, fadeaways and sweet jumpers. Ticket also finished with 5 boards & 4 assists in 23 minutes. Jeff Green was aggressive from the jump and led the C’s with 19 points. He also played great defense and combined with C. Lee for 7 steals. Courtney had a solid line of 10 pts, 3 steals, 7 rebounds & 5 assists. It was his uptempo play that really set the tone for Boston tonight. It was as if he was set free. The Green: The Celtics were very aggressive on both ends of the floor tonight. Led by Courtney Lee and KG, the C’s defense held the Blazers to a miserable 23% from the floor in the first half-Celts tallied 8 steals in the first 24 mins. Boston had their biggest lead of the season, 25 points, as they went up 56-33 at halftime. Jeff Green was a beast. It was obv...

Taking Stock: Celtics – Trailblazers

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value. Starters Offense:      Defense:      Overall:  I bet when you see 3 green arrows come up for Courtney Lee, you expect a siren to go off and coins to come pouring out of your monitor somehow.  I’m going to look past a few of the misses because as we’ve...

Green and Wilcox "chance" won't play vs. Portland

#Celtics coach Doc Rivers: There's a chance Chris Wilcox won't play, chance Jeff Green won't play tomorrow. — Scott Souza (@scott_souza) November 29, 2012 Potentially the Green could be down to 8 guys playing tomorrow night against the Trail Blazers, depending on what the league decides to do with Rondo. Although Doc also said that Kris Joseph and Fab Melo would...

Video: Three at the Buzzer: Rondo-less Celtics Blowout Blazers 96-78

The Celtics barely missed Rondo as they routed the Trailblazers 96-78. Strong performances by Jeff Green, Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett gave Celtics fans hope that they can play without their floor general. Jared Weiss of CLNS Radio recaps the game in tonight’s edition of “Three at the Buzzer”. Filmed and [...]

The Best of Tommy - Blazers 11/30

Tommy started off in rare fashion with a rant on Rondo's suspension. Tommy is from an era when you stood up for each other and what Rondo did was a nightly occurrence. The whole league has gotten soft. On Rondo's 2 game suspension "Absolutely overkill. For crying out loud he stood up for his teammate.""I'm yelling!I'm really yelling! — Tommy...

Celts Beat Blazers, 96-78

Boston and Portland are scenic ports of call, but their basketball arenas are no bed and breakfasts for the NBA's gentlemen callers. Courtney Lee replaced Rajon Rondo in the starting lineup and the Celtics got off to a quick start.  Jeff Green played well with 19 points and Jason Terry had 17. Dee Brown converted two free throws with 16.5 seconds remaining and the Celtics...

The Celtics Recall Kris Joseph from Maine

With Rondo out for tonight's game and Chris Wilcox and Jeff Green questionable, the Celtics have recalled Kris Joseph from the Maine Red Claws. Wilcox left the Celtics game vs the Nets with some type of illness and Jeff Green injured his knee in the same contest. Neither player practiced yesterday and are listed as questionable for tonight. Joseph, a 6’7 forward, averaged...

Video: Celtics Locker Room Report: Celtics Win Without Rondo…and Prove They’re Men?

The Celtics beat the Portland Trailblazers emphatically by a score of 96-78 last night, even if their star point guard was not around to see the action after being ejected against the Nets. However, the talk in the locker room for Kevin Garnett was about Doc’s comment that other teams think the Celtics are “soft”. [...]

Celts cruise despite Rondo's absence

Jeff Green scored 19 points, Jason Terry added 17 and the Boston Celtics cruised to a comfortable win without Rajon Rondo, topping the Portland Trail Blazers 96-78 on Friday night. The star point guard served the first game of his two-game suspension for his role in a scuffle Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets. Courtney Lee started in Rondo's place and finished with 10...

Bucks Gone Wild

Consistency is something the Celtics have finally found, that is if being consistently inconsistent counts.  Watching the Celtic's quarters are almost like following two different movies at the exact same time which can be extremely frustrating, especially when they start out playing so well. The defense was smothering the Bucks and it seemed like we had gained control of the...

Celtics-Bucks Preview

The Boston Celtics are missing Rajon Rondo for one more game, but Courtney Lee will try to soften the blow of that absence again. Visiting the sputtering Milwaukee Bucks may also help. With Lee expected to start at the point again, the Celtics attempt to continue their success against the Bucks by getting another win at the Bradley Center on Saturday night. Rondo, the NBA'...

Rajon Rondo Gets Ejected for Fighting Kris Humphries Who Punched Kevin Garnett (Video)

The Boston Celtics met the Brooklyn Nets earlier tonight at the TD Garden arena, and things got wild.  Kris Humphies "punched" if you will, Kevin Garnett in the face while he was going up for a shot.  Celtics guard Rajon Rondo didn't like what he saw and went after Kris.  The fight went into the crowd, but nothing really seemed to happen after that.  Not nearly...

Felger thinks KG is a wuss & would lose a fight to any hockey player

There are a lot of CSNNE reporters I like. Michael Felger in not one of them. He's openly stated he doesn't like the Celtics or the NBA, yet CSNNE gives him a major platform to discuss the NBA. Yesterday he was going off on how KG ran away from Gerald Wallace and would lose a fight to any hockey player. "I would take, almost literally, anyone in the NHL over Kevin Garnett...

Video: Tempers flare during Celtics, Nets game

With the Nets up 51-35 in the first half of their game against the Celtics last night, tempers flared when Nets' Kris Humphries fouled Celtics' Kevin Garnett sending him crashing to the floor. Rajon Rondo didn't take to kindly to Humphries' foul on his teammate and that's when a brawl broke out.  Boston head coach responded to the brawl saying the...
