Kevin Love shocked a lot of people when he made his season debut for the Minnesota Timberwolves last week. He was supposed to be out a little bit longer but there he was, scoring and rebounding like he hadn’t missed any time at all. There must be some sort of healing formula in the water up in Minnesota because Ricky Rubio is reportedly on track to come back faster than originally thought as well. Rubio is supposed to be in Vail, Colorado today to visit with his surgeon for three days. On Thursday, the Timberwolves are hoping he’ll be able to return to contact practice. Rubio hasn’t played in a game since March 9th of last year after tearing the ACL in his left knee, so even when he is ready to play, it’s hard to predict how effective he’ll be. Either way, the Timberwolves are looking forward to his return, especially on the defensive end. "When he was healthy last year, he was very good keeping the people in front of him," said Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelma...

Rubios mischievous nature shows on social media

MINNEAPOLIS It would not be a stretch to guess that Ricky Rubio is the only NBA player who would tweet a meme of two tiny bunnies whispering to one another as his means of announcing that he's heading to a doctor's appointment. It's even less of a stretch to say that he's the only NBA player who, in doing so, would surprise no one. Monday evening, Rubio posted that...

Ricky Rubio Crosses Up Defenders, Then Backyard Wrestles?

The truth is that he doesn’t, however you get a glimpse at what it would look like if he did in Ricky Rubio’s latest commercial for Foot Locker and Adidas. This is the third spot from Foot Locker which has caught my eye over the past month, the first featured James Harden and the third featured Carmelo Anthony. You may not think of Foot Locker being front and center with Nike...

Loves return was bound to pay dividends

MINNEAPOLIS No knock on Kevin Love, but that was supposed to go well. Those were the Kings, and the Timberwolves were on a five-game losing streak with something to prove. Those were the Kings, who went into the game 4-9. Those were the Kings, and to lose in Sacramento would be to declare some sort of alarm surrounding a team that started the season 5-2. Combine all that with Love...
LIVING ON A PRAYER

Kevin Love hits lucky fadeaway shot

Sometimes its better to be lucky than good and on Tuesday night, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love got lucky with the below shot. In the waning moments of last night's game against the Sacramento Kings, Love came up with a deflected pass and threw up a prayer before the shot clock expired. Watch as the ball takes a lucky bounce into the hoop:

Love grabs 24 rebounds as Wolves dump Kings

SACRAMENTO -- Minnesota All-Star power forward Kevin Love says his game is nowhere near his normal level. However, the Timberwolves badly needed a victory Tuesday, and he made sure they got one. Minnesota executed down the stretch and ended a five-game losing streak with a 97-89 victory over the Sacramento Kings before a small crowd of 10,741 at Sleep Train Arena. Love finished...

Love sets NBA season-high in boards

Kevin Love had 23 points and an NBA season-high 24 rebounds to help the Minnesota Timberwolves stop a five-game losing streak by beating the Sacramento Kings 97-89 on Tuesday night.

Wolves looking to extend Clippers' slide

The Los Angeles Clippers are blaming their defense for their current struggles, and those complaints likely will continue if they can't slow down Kevin Love. Los Angeles looks to avoid a fifth consecutive loss Wednesday night when it hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have won three straight meetings with Love in the lineup. The Clippers (8-6) gave up an average of 86.2 points...

Warriors shut down Love in comeback win over Timberwolves

OAKLAND -- In a game-deciding duel between 6-foot-10 NBA All-Star Kevin Love and 6-foot-7 rookie second-round pick Draymond Green, it's not surprising rebounding and interior baskets provided the difference in Saturday's game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors. The shock comes in the guy who won the battle. Green triggered a game-swinging...

Timberwolves 97, Kings 89

SACRAMENTO -- The Minnesota Timberwolves badly needed a victory Tuesday, and Kevin Love made sure they got one. Minnesota executed down the stretch and ended a five-game losing streak with a 97-89 victory over the Sacramento Kings before a small crowd of 10,741 at Sleep Train Arena. Wolves Monday: Losses don't make sense

MINNEAPOLIS Well, the Timberwolves are halfway through what's looking more and more like the road trip that might turn into a hole, having dropped two games in Portland and Golden State after losing at home to Denver on Wednesday. After the team's buzzer-beater win over Indiana on Nov. 9, I tweeted something to the effect of this team is completely flummoxing, and more than...

Injury Updates For Your Favorite Bowlers

As mentioned earlier today, Amar’e Stoudemire will be back whenever he gets back. There is no time table for his return. I don’t expect to see him start appearing on the waiver wire, although in shallow leagues there’s no reason to have him on your roster. Anthony Davis  – He underwent an MRI that showed a “stress reaction” in his left ankle. A stress reaction is also...

Timberwolves-Kings Preview

While Tyreke Evans' resurgence has lifted the Sacramento Kings, the Minnesota Timberwolves have yet to reap the full benefit of Kevin Love's return to the lineup. The Kings hope to get another standout performance from their star guard Tuesday night as they seek a third win in four games and try to deal the Timberwolves a sixth consecutive defeat. Evans has averaged 21...
