Every summer, ESPN hosts their own sports award show for the year called the "ESPYs" where they give out awards to big sports moments like it's the Oscars or something. I wouldn't have even known this was happening in 2013, except I learned late that the sexiest son of a ***** on this planet second to Paul Rudd was going to be hosting the "event", and that man is Jon Hamm. God he's arousing. But then I also learned that Christian Ponder was going to join his (more?) talented wife Samantha Ponder on the ESPYs red carpet to talk to athletes as they arrived and do other stuff. And since this is ESPN, you know it was going to be just a mess of bloviating and self-oral sex the entire time. So I didn't watch it. But I did find a video of Samantha Ponder sticking it to those lazy prick jockeys ESPN rolls out on First Take, Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless. And for her efforts, she moves up a couple of notches in my book. Video after the jump: YEAH, SUCK ON THAT, HATERZ! PONDEROSA'S NOT AS BAD AS YOU THINK although he probably is and this was likely super awkward where he had to pretend like he isn't a mediocre NFL quarterback and you **** goblins were actually right about something. Anyway, whatever. Ponder actually showed some odd natural talent in handling an on-air interview, with good voice modulation and camera presence. He hammed it up appropriately with Samantha as well, even though she clearly has the chops to work the camera better during a session like this. Although she did appear gracious enough to step aside and let her husband "fumble" his way through the experience. That's a sign of a strong marriage if I ever saw one! Either way, good work, Ponders! As an aside, **** the ESPYs. These are the dumbest things ever. And then sitting around and seeing ESPN personalities talk all excitedly about it on TV and Twitter and the Internet like it's some cultural thing that everyone looks forward to makes me sick. It's like listening to Google talk about how awesome Google+ is. It's not, dudes. Remember Google Wave? Yeah, that sucked too. Go back to perfecting search engines. And ESPN, go back to ... Uh ... What is it you do well again? Oh yeah, UNOBTRUSIVE SPORT HIGHLIGHTS WITH LESS GRATING PERSONALITIES AND MORE ACTUAL FACTS AND ****. Idiots. [follow]
