Ukrainian tennis player Sergiy Stakhovsky was facing off against No.7 ranked Richard Gasquet in the first round of the French Open this past Monday, and at one point during his straight set loss to his French opponent, disputed a call with the chair umpire over whether a ball was in or not. As it usually goes with umpire-player arguments, Stakhovsky lost the battle, but may have won the war when he whipped out his iPhone and took a picture of the clay at Roland Garros of where the disputed shot landed. Sure his tennis skills may be mediocre, and yes, the whole thing was a monumental wasted effort on the 27-year-old’s part, but you have to admit, Sergiy Stakhovsky has tremendous social media and iPhone photography skills. Here’s the picture he tweeted out to his nearly 9,000 followers… Well..here what you asked for … twitter.com/Stako_tennis/s… — Sergiy Stakhovsky (@Stako_tennis) May 27, 2013 In? Out? Too close to call? It was all for naught anyway because, as I alluded to earlier, Stakhovsky fell 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 to Gasquet. At least the Ukrainian journeyman gave us a moment to remember in an otherwise forgettable opening day at the French Open.
