A.B. Now that Ray Allen leaving for the Miami Heat has sunk in, I got to thinking… Which Boston fan favorite leaving for a rival team hurt the worst? So without futher ado, I give you the top 5 worst Boston sports betrayals of all time. This hurts… #5 – Ray Allen to Miami Heat I made my thoughts known on Ray leaving town. This really just isn’t that painful for me. I loved the time Ray spent in Boston and I will always picture him as a Celtic as well. Taking a lot less money to go to a new team tells you something was wrong. Better to always picture him in a shining light than to see him unhappy, elderly & riding the pine. #4 – Adam Vintieri to Colts This one didn’t sting as much as it should have. I think it had a lot to do with the Patriots not willing to pay him. Vinatieri wanted to stay but wanted to get paid. The Patriots didn’t want to pay big bucks for a kicker. You can’t really blame either side in this one… just sucks it had to be Indy. #3 – Wade Boggs to Yankees I d...

Why did Ray Allen leave the Celtics?

When Ray Allen left the Boston Celtics to join the Miami Heat in free agency many wonder why? Well it appears Allen did not get along on the best of terms with Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo and management. There is no question when he is on his game Rondo is one of the best point guards in the NBA. He is so quick and athletic and has great court vision and pass ability...

Ok, Now This Is Awkward

Since learning that the Celtics will open in Miami this season, I've been thinking about how awkward this will be for Ray Allen. Picture the Heat players all lined up and each one going up for his ring. And there is Ray. He was on the team that Miami had to beat to get to the Finals. His team certainly had reason to believe that the officiating had something to do with their...

According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, the Miami Heat will open their season at home on October 30th vs the Boston Celtics. The full...

The Boston Celtics Youth Movement

The Celtics time as a group of old geisers has come and passed. We can finally stop saying “can they make one more run at it?” The departure of Ray Allen and the addition of several young players has signaled the end of the Old Team era and the beginning of a new Celtics philosophy. Celtics to Open 2012-13 Season at Heat

According to the Sun Sentinel, the Celtics will open the 2012-13 season on the road vs the hated Heat. Won't that be fun for the Celtics to watch the Heat raise the banner and get their rings? I'm not sure what could possibly be a better motivation for the new look/old look Celtics than that.   Watching the Heat players get their rings should light a fire under the Celtics...

Courtney Lee a great fit for Boston Celtics

Yesterday, Jay brought you an entertaining (and absolutely correct) assessment of Boston’s offseason. As a recently engaged young man myself, I applaud his commitment and urge him to give his proposal careful thought. After all, it would be a shame to break up with the 2007 offseason simply because 2012 has that new relationship sparkle. But love and relationships aside (literally...
