Oh, if only we didn’t have to limit Thor’s innings… The young phenom Noah Syndergaard took the mound for the Binghamton Mets today and surprise, surprise… he dominated. The coolest thing about it, however, was that D’Arnaud was behind the plate for the game — which created a weird glimpse into our potential future at Citi Field. Anyway, Syndergaard didn’t allow his first hit till the third inning and cruised through the entire game, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out three. His final line was: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 3 K, 49/66 pitches for strikes. He had no real trouble throughout this start, as he and d’Arnaud seemed to have quite the connection. I mean, honestly, what else can I say about Thor at this point? I gush over him every time he takes the mound because he is a future star in the making.
