In a game of unusual “runs,” Alabama’s run of bad basketball continued as the Crimson Tide lost its fifth game in its last six outings and third straight in Coleman Coliseum Sunday afternoon.
BEST OF MAXIM
HONOLULU – The Alabama women’s basketball team (10-3) grinded out a 44-43 victory over Hawaii (4-7) on Sunday at the Stan Sheriff Center to win the Bank of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Invitational. Crimson Tide junior Shafontaye Myers was named Tournament MVP following the game while senior Alicia Mitcham earned all-tournament team honors.
Alabama had a pretty good idea of what it was getting when it recruited Barrett Jones out of Evangelical Christian School in Germantown, Tenn., in 2008. Scout.com had ranked him the 18th best lineman in the nation, a four-star prospect, and the top prospect in the state of Tennessee. There was a question of where he might play. He was projected as a tackle by some, a center by others.

Everyone is aware that Alabama’s football team has something to finish this year. But that’s the big picture, the result. The process means finishing a lot of things. “Finish, finish, finish,” emphasized Alabama Coach Nick Saban following the Crimson Tide’s final practice of the year Saturday.
