Last night’s game was tough to swallow. The Warriors were playing ridiculously well, matching Dallas literally basket for basket and was up one at the end of three. Turnovers and lack of offensive movement doomed the Warriors losing a tough game, 105-100. No matter, tonight, the Warriors head to San Antonio to take on Tim Duncan and the Spurs.
Tough game to swallow, tough 10 games it has been for the Warriors. They have lost the last nine out of ten, running into hot teams like the Mavericks but also giving away the game by various ways. Stephen Curry lead all Warriors with 21 while David Lee had 20, Monta Ellis had 18 and Dorrell Wright finished with 17. Overall, the scoring responsibilities were spread out evenly. They hit 10 threes but were only 6 out of 13 on free throws, the exact number of how much they lost by, five. But with 19 turnovers and only 6 free throws made, its hard to win, let alone win on the road against a hot team. cutting down on turnovers and taking advantage of free shots, the Warriors could have won and should have won the game.
The Warriors have been playing well to compete with the best of the league, but have either been not playing the full 48 minutes or playing teams with something to prove. Commentators of CSN had pointed out that the lack of bench or the lack of talent that is coming off the bench has been hindering the Warriors. The starters have been superb. They give the Warriors a chance to win, competing with the best of the league and playing well together, but the bench has not been coming through, sustaining the lead or even give energy so that the Warriors can come back. But like most things, this has been the best season for the Warriors in recent years and it can only get better from here.
Tonight, the Warriors visit the Spurs who have a 17-3 record and coming into the night with two straight wins. I believe the Warriors have a great chance of pulling off a win and gain some momentum back to the Bay Area. With old legs and tiring bodies, the Warriors can run on the Spurs. Leading the league in steals, the Warriors should generate some offense from their D by playing a high-tempo game. It should be a great game and let’s hope the Warriors are on the winning end.
