Pro Sports Daily:
PHILADELPHIA -- Rajon Rondo picked up another triple-double, but the Philadelphia 76ers picked up the win. Evan Turner, despite missing nine of his previous 10 shots, swished a 13-foot jumper with 3.9 seconds left in overtime to lift the Sixers past the Boston Celtics, 95-94, Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center. "I was just trying to get to my sweet spot on the court and pull up," Turner said. "I told myself to hold my follow-through. I feel like the shots I missed I kind of rushed. Thad Young told me at the beginning of overtime, 'Take over. Keep shooting.' That's what I did."? Sixers coach Doug Collins praised Turner -- who played point guard for the final 4:02 of overtime after starter Jrue Holiday fouled out -- for having the confidence to want the ball with the game on the line. "I told Evan, 'It's easy to take those shots when you've hit four or five in a row,'" Collins said. "The thing I love about you ...

As CLNSRadio’s resident Sneakerhead (even though I despise that term), I couldn’t help but notice Rajon Rondo’s choice of footwear so far this season. Rajon Rondo is under contract to wear the products of Nike Basketball, and at times their subsidiary Jordan Brand. Last year he regularly wore the Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer and the Nike [...]
Here are the full highlights of Rajon Rondo's 16 point, 13 rebound, 14 assist triple double from Friday night in Philly. Rondo also chipped in 3 blocks and 3 steals for good measure.

According to Lakers beat reporter Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers were watching the Celtics-76ers game in the locker room before their game against the Thunder tonight and were impressed by Rajon Rondo's near triple-double in the first half (he went on to secure the triple-double in the 3rd quarter). Dwight Howard chimed in that "the game just comes easy to him:"...
Kevin Garnett had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Rajon Rondo added 17 points and 11 assists to lead the Celtics over the Timberwolves. Kevin Love tried to will the Wolves back into the game with 19 points and 13 rebounds, but to no avail as all Celtics starters finished with double-digits in the points [...]
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“I should have taken the lay-up,” Rondo said. “But I tried to make a plant and just slipped.”
Said Garnett: “I thought he had the lay-up. It was just unfortunate. I was indecisive. I should have been more...
The Boston Celtics continue to struggle in the middle of the Eastern Conference.
A recent series of missteps by temperamental point guard Rajon Rondo has done nothing to elevate their cause.
In their 95-94 overtime loss to Philadelphia on Friday, Rondo flubbed what should have been a game-winning scenario.

In a world where the 76ers play the Celtics 82 times a year, Evan Turner is the NBA MVP. Continuing his tradition of playing way better against Boston than he does against other teams, ET put up 26/10/5 to lead Philadelphia to a 95-94 victory in overtime. It did take him 26 shots to reach 26 points, and he went just 2-11 in the fourth quarter and overtime… but he made up for...
Paul Pierce and the Celtics were losers on Friday night
Rajon Rondo had a triple-double by the time the third quarter was over, but you would not have been able to tell from his post-game comments.
“I should have took the layup,” said Rondo after he missed a game-winning opportunity slipping while taking a jump-shot. “I tried to make a plant and just slipped.”
As an aside...
Celtics were up four at the half but after a lousy 3rd quarter, fell behind by as much as eight points. Rajon Rondo showed why he's clearly the Celtics' best player. His all-around game becomes contagious and he nearly had a triple-double early in the second half (he'd achieve it later in the 3rd quarter). But the Celtics comeback, which momentarily gave them...
Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday lead the Eastern Conference in assists and had no trouble racking them up the last time they met.
The point guards will match up twice this weekend when Rondo's Boston Celtics and Holiday's 76ers begin a home-and-home set at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night.
Boston's Rondo leads the NBA with 12.8 assists per game while Holiday is averaging...

We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Minnesota.
“They were making a lot of shots,” Wolves coach Rick Adelman said. “I can’t tell you [what went wrong] until I look at it, but I thought we were playing well. But in the second half they took control.”

It's been eight days, and three games, since Doc Rivers called his team soft following their rather embarrassing loss at home against the Nets. Since then the team is 2-1, beating the Blazers by 18, losing in Milwaukee by 3 (both of these games without Rajon Rondo) and then beating the Timberwolves by 10 last night. More than just the results though, the team has played differently...
The Boston Celtics came up short against the Philadelphia 76ers last night 95-94 after Evan Turner sealed the deal with a 10-foot jumper with three seconds left in overtime.
This time around Doc Rivers’ team is home. Boston needs a lot to go right to get a victory against Doug Collins and company.
