After a spectacular night of MMA action, UFC president Dana White awarded Stefan Struve (Pictured), Paul Sass, Roy Nelson and Dan Hardy each an additional $70,000 for their special performances Saturday night at “UFC 146: Dos Santos vs. Mir.”
Struve and Sass took home ‘Submission of the Night’ honors, while Nelson and Hardy were both rewarded with ‘Knockout of the Night.’
Struve earned his bonus by slapping on an armbar on Lavar Johnson, while Sass won his by getting Jacob Volkmann tap out to an armbar.
It took Nelson all of 51 seconds to put Dave Herman with a vicious right overhand and Hardy floored Duane Ludwig with his signature left hook.
Considering nine of the 12 fights ended before the final horn, with seven of them concluding in the opening stanza, the organization declined to hand out ‘Fight of the Night.’
UFC 146 took place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
