Found January 25, 2013 on Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
The Celtics deserve to be kicked out of the league at this point in time. They were put in a situation where if they just had the will to win they would've won. I don't know how they managed to blow this one. They didn't even try in the second half. This game was handed to them and I feel bad for Doc Rivers. Tonight's USOTN goes to the decent performance of Jason Terry. Terry had 12 points on 4/6 shooting. Terry has struggled recently but showed up tonight. I'm happy for him. As always, tell me your own USOTNs below. They were up by nineteen at halftime. In the third quarter, they started off being outscored 21-2. That was not their best effort. Something needs to be done because this team is awful. I don't think they can compete on the NBA level anymore. How about they cut the whole team and start from scratch.

Crowd-sourcing the Celtics: What to do with Jason Terry

A lot of people read us to get our opinions about the Celtics.  But sometimes, it’s good to open things up to the group.  So we’ve come up with a new feature called “Crowd-sourcing the Celtics”… where we ask questions over social media on a certain topic, and post a few of the suggestions here (with our own opinions added). Step one for participating:  Follow me or Chuck...

Doc Rivers Praises Celtics’ Effort in Loss to Knicks, Hopes to See Same Energy Every Night (Video)

The Celtics have recently suffered from a lack of hustle, but that wasn’t what was plaguing them Thursday night. After the 89-86 loss to the Knicks, Doc Rivers took to the podium and actually praised his team’s overall effort, noting that if he see the same going forward the team should be alright. The comments were in stark contrast to the coach’s statements after Boston lost...

Here's Doc's interview prior to tonight's highly anticipated Celtics/Knicks match-up. Video courtesy of Chris Forsberg.

Video: Doc Rivers discusses the loss of Rondo and moving forward

I would not be surprised to see the Celtics go on a decent run, as teams off circle the wagons after horrible news like this. We'll have to wait and see if Danny Ainge decides to start the rebuilding now or just play for the best record possible. As the coach, Rivers has to stay positive saying that the team's title hopes are still alive. I expect KG and Pierce to say the...

Rajon Rondo ACL Tear Is Final Blow for Celtics Team That Was Already Just Hanging On

And there you go. Jason Terry will not get out of his slump. Courtney Lee will not suddenly find his groove and see his game jump to the next level. Jeff Green will not find his role, and Avery Bradley‘s defense will not suddenly make all the difference. Rajon Rondo is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, and with him goes everything Boston had tried to build this season...

5 Things Celtics must do to win tomorrow - Heat 1/27

Not like other Celtics fans, I am quickly moving on from last night's meltdown and looking ahead to tomorrow's return of Ray Allen. This offseason Allen stupidly left the Celtics for the Heat for less money. I don't know if he wasn't thinking or if he's just one of those guys who doesn't understand common sense, but he looked bad. He thanked us in the Globe...

Vote: Should the Celtics Make a Blockbuster Trade Before the Trading Deadline?

When a team is struggling, it’s never too soon to start talking about trades. The Boston Celtics have struggled to find their rhythm this season and a frustrating first half has been the result. Currently riding a five-game losing streak, a change could be coming for the Celtics. On Sunday night, a furious Doc Rivers threatened major changes if things didn’t improve, sparking...

The last chance for the Boston Celtics

It’s the last chance for the Boston Celtics to establish themselves of the Eastern Conference Three weeks ago when the Boston Celtics defeated the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, it was seen as a turning point of the Boston Celtics season. It was the middle of six-game winning streak that reestablished the Celtics defensive swagger, none more evident than the game against...

Your Morning Dump… Where Ray’s Return is the Least of the Celtics’ Problems

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Allen returning to TD Garden was supposed to be the story line — if the Celtics had held up their end of the bargain and flourished with their retooled roster. Instead they are a mess, with a befuddled Doc Rivers...

Paul Pierce Left Off All-Star Team for First Time in Five Years, Celtics Coach Doc Rivers Cites Voting ‘By-Laws’ for Sub-.500 Teams

BOSTON — The last time Paul Pierce stayed home for NBA All-Star Weekend, the Celtics’ record made it difficult to whine about the snub. The Celtics went 24-58 in the last year of the pre-”New Big Three” era while Pierce, for the first time in his career, spent more than a month watching with major injury as his team give away game after game. There is no serious injury this...

Doc Rivers, LeBron James Expect Ray Allen to Get Emotional Reaction in Return to Boston

LeBron James says Celtics fans shout down anyone not dressed in green. Chris Bosh says emotions will be high. Ray Allen has returned to his former, diplomatic self, saying he’s happy to be in Boston but has moved on from being a Celtic. Celtics coach Doc Rivers? Well, despite all the riff-raff that happened when Allen first left and fired parting shots on his way out of Boston...

Doc Rivers, Heat Weigh In On Ray Allen’s Return To Boston

Ray Allen will return to TD Garden Sunday night for the first time since leaving his team of 5 years and joining the rival Miami Heat. While Allen thinks “once the dust settles” fans will be able to appreciate what he did for the Celtics, there’s a good chance he will not get a good reception when he returns to Boston to take on his former squad. Here’s what Doc and some...

Led Zeller And The Houses Of The Blocky

If you like your men big, I got a Buy/Sell that will knock your panties off. First up is Tyler Zeller. On Monday, I wrote: “Despite beefy minutes (38), he only went for 13 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocks. On the other hand, he still got 13 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocks. He has double digit points over the last 3 games, plus an average of 3 blocks and 10...

Starting 5

Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day. 1: Soaring low in Atlanta Doc Rivers has been notably down on his team as they have gone through this losing skid and the team has had to question its status as legitimate contenders. Everyone seems to think Boston just needs the fire lit under it to regain the championship form...
