Found December 09, 2012 on Bush League Chronicle:
Even Shaquille O'Neal and Dwight Howard are cringing after watching this horrendous attempt from the charity stripe. Seen here is Appalachian State junior Brian Okam releasing unarguably the worst free-throw attempt in the history of basketball. Disclaimer: The faint of heart may want to shield their eyes. The end result is quite brutal. The now infamous moment came during the Mountaineers' 70-64 loss at Western Carolina on Saturday.  Can we all agree that 7-foot centers shouldn't be put through the embarrassment of shooting free throws? Via Deadspin.

Appalachian State’s Brian Okam shows off unarguably the worst free throw attempt ever

Welcome to Airball City, population that guy. It’s hard not to cut Appalachian State center Brian Okam’s some slack on his free throw shooting—he is 7-fooy tall junior and big men are notoriously bad shooters—but this attempt from the charity line is beyond horrible.  Airballing a free throw takes some serious lack of talent, but Okam’s attempt nearly goes straight up...

Appalachian State's Brian Okam made worst free throw attempt ever (Video)

Appalachian State center Brian Okam attempted what can honestly be described as the worst looking free throw attempt ever by any NCAA college basketball player during Saturday's 70-64 loss to Western Carolina. It has to be seen to be believed, as Okam's foul shot, and we're not even sure we can even call it that, went straight up in the air and didn't even make...

Video: Dwight Howard’s latest Foot Locker commercial: “Ghost Hunter”

Tweet   Dwight Howard has been in the news alot lately whether it’s been for his poor free-throw shooting (104-218 for a career-low .477%) or a minor exchange with Kobe Bryant during a recent game. Away from the court the Los Angeles Lakers center is as entertaining as any player in the NBA and the [...]

Video: Appalachian State’s Brian Okam Shoots Worst Free Throw Ever

Brian Okam plays center for Appalachian State and in a loss to Western Carolina on Saturday shot the worst free throw I have ever seen. This has been a rough season for the Mountaineers, as they are now 1–7 and we will be seeing this horrendous shot for a long time. Dwight Howard and the Lakers are impressed by Rajon Rondo

According to Lakers beat reporter Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers were watching the Celtics-76ers game in the locker room before their game against the Thunder tonight and were impressed by Rajon Rondo's near triple-double in the first half (he went on to secure the triple-double in the 3rd quarter). Dwight Howard chimed in that "the game just comes easy to him:"...

Roy Hibbert Wants to Surpass Dwight Howard as Best Center in NBA

Roy Hibbert is coming for your title, Dwight Howard. He might not be coming swiftly, or very directly, but he is coming. Hibbert intends to be the best center in the NBA one day, supplanting Howard as the elite of that position, the struggling Pacers center declared while denying that he posted a photo with “#[expletive]Dwight” on Instagram. Hibbert’s offensive decline has...

Worst. Free Throw. Ever.

Appalachian State junior center Brian Okam had what has to be the worst free throw of all-time (from anybody that has ever played basketball competitively, anyway) on Saturday against Western Carolina. See it for yourself: Spectacularly awful. It should come as no surprise that Okam and Appalchian State lost the game, and are now 1-7 on the season.  Oh, and...

The worst free-throw attempt in basketball history

This video makes Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard look like the best free throw shooters in the business. Both O’Neal and Howard are notorious for being horrendous at shooting free throws, but at least they can get the ball in proximity of the rim. The same can not be said for Appalachian State Center Brian Okam, who re-defined the term “airball” after attempting a...

Lakers fall to to 9-12 as their defense becomes an issue

The Los Angeles Lakers have one heck of a starting lineup.  With such an All-Star lineup, you would expect them to have a loss column in the single-digits.  Except in this particular season, the Lakers have 12 losses piled up.  One thing is for sure, getting a new coach did not solve all their problems.  That move, however, did help rejuvenate the team in terms of a new style...

Full-Court Press: NBA's big men off center

This was the summer of the center, even the summer of the centers. In the NBA today, it's so rare to hear centers, plural, for there to be so much discussion of big men, period, and so there was reason to think that it might carry over. Dwight Howard was shipped to the Lakers, Andrew Bynum to the 76ers, and there was reason to think that Howard might be the missing piece in the...

Video: Worst Missed Free Throw in the History of Missed Free Throws

I hate to admit it, but even I airballed a free throw during my illustrious collegiate basketball career.  But even I would never, evvvvvvvvver, airball one this bad.  Appalachian State's Brian Okam, take a bow.Big up: Deadspin

The Absolute Worst Free Throw In The History Of Basketball

Sometime we get a little excited on this website. We frequently make reference to the “best” or the “worst” things in sports.  There is one thing I’m confident in tell you tonight.  This is absolutely, without a doubt the worst free throw attempt in the history of basketball. The shooter is Appalachian State’s seven-foot Junior center Brian Okam.  I put together the...
