Cubs 2, Nationals 1: While you're sitting around trying to come to grips with Davey Johnson pulling Gio for a pinch hitter after 86 pitches, enjoy the video above of Kurt Suzuki's first career ejection in the 9th for arguing with fill-in umpire John Tumpane over his crappy strike zone; this after his freak throw in the 9th led to the go-ahead run.
Gio perfect through five, gets pulled in the seventh; Storen and Raffy can't hold 1-0 lead, Nats offense takes Mother's Day off.
Seems like only yesterday the Nats were rolling with a five-game winning streak; now two losses in a row to the Cubs.
Silver lining: Braves lost again.

Error Unravels Strasburg I have been waiting to write this article, because even I am still confused with what happened. On Saturday against the Cubs Stephen Strasburg was rolling. Through four innings he had 7 strikeouts, in just 53 pitches and had allowed just one hit. Then the wheels came off, and the Nationals go on to lose 8-2. What the hell happened? In the 5th inning Strasburg...
Clearly because he had nothing better to do, Bryce Harper did something Friday night that not even Lord Tweets-a-lot himself Jose Canseco has done...force fed his close to 240,000 Twitter followers a picture of his bloodied big toe.
I demand to know...who wanted to see it, dude? Who?!? Answer...no one.
However the image of Harper's ingrown toenail makes you feel...

I know I’m a little late to the game here talking about Bryce Harper and his ingrown toenail. Honestly, I wasn’t going to say anything about it. But for some reason I was thinking about Bull Durham and what Crash Davis would have to say to Harper.
True words of Wisdom. I bet Harper’s shower shoes have fungus on them. If only Harper had a Crash Davis to show him the ropes of...

The worst was feared, as rumors of concussion-like symptoms spread without any confirmed results from the Nationals.

Dominant early, Stephen Strasburg fell apart after one of Ryan Zimmerman's two errors and wound up dropping his fifth consecutive decision, an 8-2 loss Saturday to the Chicago Cubs, whose starting pitcher, Edwin Jackson, worked into the sixth inning and hit a two-run double for good measure.
Jackson (1-5) retired 12 of Washington's first 13 batters and allowed two runs and...

The Washington Nationals ended their homestand with a defeat in strange fashion. But they'll have the luxury of turning to the dominant Jordan Zimmermann as they try to start off their West Coast swing on the right foot.

The Washington Nationals won their fifth straight last night as they beat the Chicago Cubs 7-3 at Nationals Park, and coupled with the Braves 8-2 loss to the Giants, the Nationals have closed within a game of the National League Eastern Division race. The Braves have held sole possession of first place since April 7.
The Nationals are finally starting to show some Nattitude.
