It seems as if every time the Yankees gain someone back from the disabled list, another player is moved onto it. Here are a few updates on the injured: Mark Teixeira: Although Joe Girardi said that Mark Teixeira will need at least a week to rest his wrist, GM Brian Cashman may want to give him a few weeks. According to Andy McCullough of the Newark Star Ledger, Cashman is leaning towards placing Teix on the DL. There is no new structural damage to the right wrist, but there is inflammation. Teixeira received a cortisone shot yesterday and hopes the wrist will calm down. He has put up a 151/.270/.340 batting line  in 15 games since coming off the DL at the beginning of the month. A few more weeks of rest and rehab may be the best option for Teix and the Yanks. Michael Pineda: Pineda will aim to throw more than 80 pitches in his next rehab start on Thursday with the Tampa Yankees, according to McCullough. Pineda has looked good so far during his rehab, and is scheduled to possibly rejoin the big-league team at the end of the month. The Yankees want him to throw about 100 pitches in back-to-back starts to see how his surgically repaired shoulder responds. Curtis Granderson: According to Mark Feinsand of the Daily News, Granderson will have the pin taken out of his pinky this Thursday. Granderson only played in a few games after returning from a broken forearm when he broke his hand against the Rays. It’s unclear when Granderson will be back with the team, but the Yankees might be looking at a post all-star break return. Alex Rodriguez: A-Rod will face live pitching on Tuesday as part of the next phase in his rehab, according to McCullough. This will be the first time Rodriguez has faced live pitching since last October. Cashman has said that A-Rod’s rehab is on schedule, and that they expect him back shortly after the all-star break.
