It seems Canelo Alvarez has been doing a bit of homework as he revealed he has been closely watching Floyd Mayweather Jr’s bout against Miguel Cotto for tips in their September 14th PPV at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather though, has heard it time and time again and on Wednesday when reporters asked him if the fight would do Canelo any good in terms of study material, Mayweather simply has this to say “you just gotta ask yourself, has Canelo faced the competition of Miguel Cotto?” Burn! Mayweather brings up a valid point, as the only really good fighter on Alvarez’s resume at this point is Austin Trout. It is the classic example of youth and vigor versus experience and craftiness. One thing is for sure, after September 14th expect Floyd Mayweather Jr and Mayweather Promotions to put up a show across the pond in London. Say what? Yup, it could just be a regular Mayweather Promotions card or Mayweather could be hinting a match up with Amir Khan?
