While attending media day for “The Moment” Tuesday at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, I asked the same question to three people: Floyd Mayweather Jr, Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer, “What is your response to Top Rank’s Bob Arum telling fans to boycott Mayweather’s bouts in order to help get a fight with Manny Pacquiao made?”
The three answers were as different as could be and the one that was the most controversial didn’t come from the mouth of Mayweather Jr. as would be the case in the past.
Here are the responses from the trio.
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“The only thing we can do is pray for Bob Arum. You know pray for him. I mean, I don’t want to say anything negative about Bob Arum, you know I wish Bob Arum nothing but the best and we doing what we doing over here.”
Floyd Mayweather Sr.
“F–k Pacquiao. You get what I’m saying? F–k Pacquiao.”
“At this point I think you can only feel sorry for him [Bob Arum]. I know some people ove

Is it about the money? Absolutely. Is it about the fame? Absolutely. It’s everything wrapped in one. I wanna be the best. Not just the best fighter. I wanna the best athlete, period. When I leave, I will be known as TBE. And that’s, ‘The Best Ever’.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is back, and that means we get ‘All Access’ to TMT all the way up to May 3rd, when he puts his perfect...
Oscar De La Hoya said anyone at Golden Boy who had a problem with Bob Arum and Top Rank , that was too bad because he planned on working with them in the future.
One small issue with that, the man the De La Hoya hired to run his company has a problem with that.
Here is what Richard Schaefer had to say to the LA Times.
“I’ve given Bob several opportunities, and a leopard never...
A lot of casual boxing fans ask what exactly is the COLD WAR?
There is a lot of background on this, but here is what it means in its simplest form.
Top Rank and Golden Boy won’t do business together, which makes it impossible for the best fights to be made. It is why you can’t get an Adrien Broner vs. Manny Pacquiao fight for example.
After Floyd Mayweather switched from HBO...
To say Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not the best conditioned boxer alive would be a very hard pressed thing for me not to admit. There has only been one other person who I’ve seen up close that could hold a candle to the non stop frenetic pace of a Mayweather workout (funny thing is, it’s Manny Pacquiao…go figure) and while you may hear constant screams of “all work is easy work...
Despite not having a knockout win since his controversial fourth round KO of Victor Ortiz in 2011, the pound-for-pound champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. says he is gunning for a early stoppage victory May 3 against the hard-hitting Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Citing different injuries in his past two bouts–injured hand against Robert Guerrero in May 2013 and an injured...
With the rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley now in the books, the attention of the boxing world has turned over to Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Marcos Maidana. It happens one week from today but that hasn’t stopped boxing fans from talking about what they thought of Pacquiao’s win over the determined Bradley.
So while I was at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas...
When a fighter is preparing for his next bout his team usually examines tapes of their opponent to see what they should and should not do going into their own battle in the ring.
When you’re the pound-for-pound king and riding a 45-bout win streak, examining tapes might not be of much importance to the fighter that has seen just about everything in the ring.
