Thursday marked the 15-year anniversary of the rematch between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield that featured one of the most bizarre endings to a sporting event in history. Tyson infamously bit a piece of Holyfield’s ear off, leaving the heavyweight hopping around the ring like mad while a chunk of his ear was chilling on the canvas waiting to be reattached.

Tyson sent a tweet on Friday morning to help promote Holyfield’s new BBQ sauce, and the joke was fantastic:

.@holyfield‘s ear would’ve been much better with his new BBQ sauce. check it out realdealbbqsauce.com #TGIF

— Mike Tyson (@MikeTyson) June 29, 2012

Holyfield’s been tweeting about his BBQ sauce non-stop for the past 8 hours, so it’s obvious this was a marketing push by Tyson, but it’s nonetheless hysterical. Evander even set it up with a tweet of his own, but it’s still perfect.

And if you’re wondering why Holyfield’s been pitching his BBQ sauce so aggressively, there’s an easy answer.

This is the least Tyson can do to help the man out after taking a chunk out of his ear.

You can go here to order Holyfield’s sauce.
