The infamous “#1 Underground Breaking Sports News” reporter Incarcerated Bob is reporting that he has received breaking news via a source that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has failed a post-fight drug test following this past Saturday’s bout against Miguel Cotto. He tweeted:

**BREAKING BOXING NEWS**Sources: Floyd Mayweather failed some kind of DRUG TEST! No announcement what he failed yet.. More coming #Karma

— Incarcerated Bob (@incarceratedbob) May 8, 2012

Could be Weed / Coke / PED’s — Lets not jump to conclusions yet.. #HardWork #Dedication #Cocaine is a terrible drug #RickJames — Incarcerated Bob (@incarceratedbob) May 8, 2012

Remember Floyd’s money is long > Boxing has been dirty before (Would they jeopardize Pac-Man vs Floyd) and reveal Failed test? Hmmm — Incarcerated Bob (@incarceratedbob) May 8, 2012

Since this rumor hit Twitter earlier, many have been asking for answers. Brent Brookhouse, managing editor of BloodyElbow.com, took to Twitter to debunk the report. Brookhouse stated that he contacted the Nevada State Athletic Commission and was told that all tests for “drugs of abuse” for the fight came back clean. He was also told that testing for Performance Enhancing Drugs haven’t even come back yet and won’t be available until Friday. Here are the tweets from Brookhouse:

Results on the “drugs of abuse” are back to the NSAC and all 4 title fighters clean. steroid tests not back until Friday

— Brent Brookhouse (@brentbrookhouse) May 8, 2012

These tweets were then confirmed by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix. Mannix tweeted:

Nevada Executive Commish Keith Kizer says reports of Mayweather’s failed drug test “not true on our end.”

— Chris Mannix (@ChrisMannixSI) May 8, 2012

Kizer says Mayweather (along with Cotto, Alvarez and Mosley) passed post fight drug test. Pre-fight results available end of the week.

So take all of this for what it’s worth at the moment, but it looks like one man’s attempts at stirring the pot and being the first to break a story are inaccurate.
