Back in June, Timothy Bradley scored a shocking upset of Manny Pacquiao in a split decision that went all 12 rounds. On Saturday, however, Bradley exemplified why the sport of boxing may want to cut out post-fight interviews going forward. Immediately after defeating Ruslan Provodnikov live on HBO, Bradley spoke to Max Kellerman (Yeah, remember him? The guy who used to host Around the Horn on ESPN?), and Kellerman immediately referred to something Bradley had told him only moments before, off camera. “Tim, what did you just tell me?” Kellerman asked Bradley. Except Bradley couldn’t come up with an answer. Despite telling Kellerman literally only seconds before that he had suffered a concussion early in the fight, Bradley could recall what he had just said. “What did I just say? I forgot.” Kellerman reminded him of the disclosure and Bradley went on the explain when he thought he suffered the concussion, and also gave some due respect to his opponent. In fact, the news gets worse, as according to BoxingScene.com after the fight a ringside doctor said that Bradley was taken to the hospital not for a concussion, but for signs of amnesia. Check out video of the interview below.
