The Best Shooter in the Country = Stephen Curry

Remember Dell Curry, the sharpshooter for the Hornets? Stephen (pronounced "Steffen") is his son. He just dropped 40 points (30 in the second half) on Gonzaga, leading the Davidson Wildcats to the 2nd round.

Not only did I profile Stephen Curry as a "Player to Watch" yesterday, but I picked Davidson to get to the Elite 8. Stephen Curry is the reason why. If you haven't seen him yet, I suggest you tune it.

He's not even being talked about as a legit NBA prospect, but every team who passes on this kid is going to regret it. Mark my words...

This game was so good! I was on the edge of my seat the entire second half.

He was on fire today that's for sure!

He was unbelievable. Dell Curry was awesome too - some guys had a quick release, Dell had virtually no release - instatouch-n-shoot!

yeah u got that right stephen curry did it big the other night fo sure

sharpshooters dont exactly translate to the NBA.

see J.J. Redick, Bracey Wright, and Salim Stoudamire

Did you read my article bro?

"Does a scrawny chump shooter (JJ Redick?) average .44 blocks per game? I don't think so."

Redick blocked 9 shots in his 128 game college career. Curry has blocked 14 shots in just 33 games this season. My point being: Curry is actually willing and able to play defense. Please don't compare him to JJ Redick ever again.

"Right now I would compare him to Juan Dixon, but I think he can be even better."

Dixon is a similar size and type of player and he's established himself as a solid shooter off the bench. He's been traded several times, but the teams that want him are smart, WINNING basketball teams: Detroit and Toronto. Dixon is a fierce competitor just like Curry, but Curry has more upside.

It's Working for Jason Kapono.

You can't be a 1-dimensional sharpshooter and make it in the NBA. You need to be able to d-up and/or shoot > 45% from 3 like Kopono

Kapono can shoot. This much is true.

his body frame reminds me of monta ellis, only if his all around game was like monta's but he probably is a better shooter but like BigAL25 said you gotta have more than that in the NBA.

That was a truly remarkable performance. I hope this kid takes Davidson far. 30 points in one half is nothing to take lightly.

Curry is gonna need help along the way if Davidson wants to go far. It just can't be all on him.

Their PG led the nation in assists and that Lovedale kid played like a beast! The guy who is wack is their big man Meno, #5. If Davidson loses to Georgetown, it's going to be because Roy Hibbert uses and abuses Meno.

well guess what they did lose Go Davidson!!

Roy Hibbert is wack! Who else wants to jump on the Davidson train?

By the way...I'm sure a few other people put Davidson into their Elite 8, but I also put $20 on Davidson at 5-to-1 odds before the tourney started to make it to the Sweet 16. Who else did THAT?

i <3 Step Curry! I love the emotion he plays with and the chip on his shoulder. The ACC didn't want him and thats unfortunate. So he decided to shine anyway. Duke probably could have used him..

Go Davidson!

Too bad Stephen Curry is only 6-3. He's a little small to play SG which is where he's skill set would put him in the NBA. Unfortunately in the NBA a 6-3 SG isn't always a good idea. In his prime I believe he could be comparable to Monte Ellis. Unless he puts on 30 pounds or so...

Stephen Curry does need to put on some weight to make an impact in the NBA. That aside the guy is simply embarrassing every team in the NCAA tournament. The best defense was played on him vs Wisconsin last night and still the guy throws down 30+. The shots this guy is hitting are not wide open, he is making shots that are contested. I don't know what some think, but the NBA doesn't exactly play tenacious defense. No one had heard about this guy until the tournament, good for him!
