Duke Blue Devils will have one of their easier weeks this week in the ACC, which says great things about the conference.  They will be playing Georgia Tech and Clemson, neither of which is in the top of the ACC.  These teams will fight to be in the middle of the pack in the ACC and will look to try to sneak in to the NIT.  These are still both very good teams, and could put a great run together this season if things bounce their way.  These games won’t be easy for Duke; they will have to come out and play well in both of these games. The first game is in Durham which will help.  They play Georgia Tech in their first home ACC game.  This will be an easier game for Duke, and should be an easy win.  The Yellow Jackets haven’t played any top notch competition, and they have already lost four games.  They also just lost one of their best players, Robert Carter Jr. for awhile, and he won’t be playing against Duke.  The next game is away at Clemson, which will be a tougher matchup for Duke.  Clemson hasn’t had the hardest of schedules either, but they haven’t dropped as many bad games as Georgia Tech.  They haven’t played any ranked teams, and that probably will hurt them going into ACC play.  This should be another win for Duke, and help them get off to a good start in ACC play.  This is a younger team, and even with the game at their place they will have trouble keeping up with the Blue Devils.  Duke should win this game to make it a great week and a quick start to ACC play.  This is important after a loss to Notre Dame. Duke needs to get off to a great start in ACC play; they will be competing with Syracuse for the ACC title.  They will have to play a number of teams taking their best shots at them, and getting off to a strong start is very important for Duke. Duke only has a few weeks where they play teams that they are much better than, and they have to take advantage of it.  They don’t have the luxury of being able to drop games this season against the lower competition and still expect to win the ACC.  They need to take advantage of these weeks, and make sure they don’t drop a game or two to teams they should beat.  Duke will be competing with Syracuse and North Carolina this season, and with the way Syracuse is playing Duke will have to be on their game every time out to win the ACC.  This should be a great season for Duke, and with them playing better should be able to challenge Syracuse for the ACC title.
