Rick Pitino’s top target, Trey Lyles, won’t be the only big man taking an official visit to Louisville at the end of the month. Chinanu Onuaku, a 6-foot-9 center from Upper Marlboro, MD., received a scholarship offer from Coach Pitino last week. On Wednesday afternoon he scheduled an official visit to Louisville. Onuaku will be on campus August, 31. At this point, Lyles and Onuaku are the only two recruits scheduled to be in town for official visits, but that may change. Late August/September is when a lot of recruits start taking their visits. I think its safe to say that Onuaku isn’t the top target for Coach Pitino, but the fact that he has a scholarship offer should let you know how interested the Louisville staff really is. He isn’t as highly ranked as some of Pitino’s other targets, but he does have an impressive offer list, which includes Maryland, Georgetown, UConn and Xavier, among others.
