Duke doesn't seem too perturbed by its embarrassing loss this week. Still, Saturday's game presents an excellent chance to make coach Mike Krzyzewski and his team feel much better.
Though sure to lose the No. 1 ranking regardless of this result, the Blue Devils are primed to respond with a win considering they're perfect at home and facing a Maryland team which has been bad on the road lately and truly awful at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Losses in two of three games have followed a 15-0 start for Duke (16-2, 3-2 ACC), and the latest defeat was among the worst of Krzyzewski's tenure. The 90-63 rout by No. 25 Miami on Wednesday was the program's most lopsided regular-season loss since January 1984 and the third-worst ever for a top-ranked team.
"It wasn't demoralizing; they played better," said Rasheed Sulaimon, who had a team-high 16 points.
It was easily Duke's worst shooting performance of the season - 29.7 percent from the field and 4 of 23 f...

“Celebrate good times, come on!” – Kool and the Gang Historic losses usually do not have the Duke Blue Devils as the victim, but that is exactly what took place on Wednesday night in Coral Gables, when the Miami Hurricanes manhandled Duke by the tune of a 90-63 score. The loss was the third-worst ever for a team ranked #1 in the nation. This game was never really close, as...
Maryland couldn't stop No. 1 Duke today (an 84-64 loss on the road) but that didn't mean the Blue Devils could stop Maryland's Alex Len from dropping this crazy reverse slam on them.

Maryland lost big, but at least this happened (via). Oh, and G’town beat L’ville.
What could liven up the 84-64 beatdown No. 1 Duke put on Maryland on Saturday? How about a pair of dunk-of-the-year candidates?
Sophomore Alex Len gave the visiting Terrapins an early boost with a follow-through reverse jam five minutes into the game, but Blue Devils senior standout Mason Plumlee did Len one better 25 minutes later, turning Quinn Cook’s missed layup into a thunderous...
There were very few positives in Duke’s 90-63 loss to No. 25 Miami and even those you might as well throw out the window in what was a colossal failure on the Blue Devils part.
Duke’s 27 point loss to Miami was hard to watch.
The loss was the 6th largest defeat in Mike Krzyzewski’s Duke career and the worst since the Blue Devils lost to Villanova in the Sweet 16 back...
Maryland isnt as bad as its looked in some ACC games and Duke isnt as bad as it was in getting blown out by 27 points at Miami on Wednesday night. But the Terrapins may actually be trending up while Duke is swirling downward, trying to figure itself out without Ryan Kelly.
Duke has not played all that well since Kelly went down with an injury late in the first half of a win over...
Quite possibly the worst performance from a Duke basketball team since Coach K has taken over as coach. The first ten minutes were predicated on solid Duke defense and Duke just not being able to hit an open shot. Miami gets hot and Duke stays cold, the score is 29-15 Miami with five minutes left in the first half and Duke calls a timeout. These last five minutes of the first...
Unfortunately, today's ACC Live didn't feature Game Sim predictions for all six ACC matchups for this weekend, so I thought I should post it for everyone to see. Make sure to go to the Game Simulator and sim the matchups for yourself as well.
