It has been a pretty good couple of years recently for Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski, but just when you thought he couldn't win any more honors, he does.

Sports Illustrated announced Krzyzewski as its 2011 Sportsman of the Year. It also announced that Tennessee women's coach Pat Summit as the Sportswoman of the Year.

So far this season, Krzyzewksi has tied and broken the all-time record for wins for a Division I men's basketball coach with 903. He has since bumped his win total up to 907 and the year is still young.

The famed coach of the Duke Blue Devils has four National Titles to his name, 13 ACC Tournament Championship, and 12 ACC Regular Season Titles. And if his work as a college coach wasn't enough for Sports Illustrated, his has coached on two Olympic Gold Medal winning teams including as head coach in 2008.

He also led Team USA to a World Championship gold medal  in 2010 with few of the star players that made up the 2008 Olympic Team.

Krzyzewski and Summit become only the third and fourth college basketball coaches to receive the honor joining former UCLA coach John Wooden and UNC great Dean Smith.

Krzyzewski will be honored in New York on Tuesday before heading back to Durham to prepare for Duke's game against Colorado State, the Blue Devil's first game since being badly beaten at the hands of Ohio State.

Despite the loss, Duke didn't drop but one spot in the polls, falling to No. 5 from the No. 4 spot, one ahead of rival North Carolina who lost its second game of the season in a thrilling match up with No. 1 Kentucky.
