Send to KindlePer official release, Washington announced the addition of former Fresno State seven-footer Robert Upshaw to the men’s basketball roster yesterday.  Upshaw signed a financial aid agreement to attend Washington.  He’ll be eligible to play three seasons after he sits out the 2013-14 season due to NCAA transfer rules. “We are very excited to have Robert Upshaw enroll at the University of Washington,” said Romar in a university statement. “There are not many post guys out there like him in college basketball. We’re anxious to begin working with him to help him reach his overall potential.” As a freshman in 2013, Upshaw averaged 5.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 22 games – including five starts. He swatted a team-high 39 blocks and logged 360 minutes (16.4 mpg). Upshaw chose the Huskies over Dana Altman’s Oregon program.
