TEAMS: North Carolina Tar Heels, Virginia Cavaliers, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles
On Sunday night, the Virginia Cavaliers rallied to snap a four game winless streak at home versus North Carolina. UVa controlled the tempo of the game, favoring their deliberate style of play. They were patient with the ball on offense and strong on defense. The Tar Heels fought a close battle until the end of second half where the Cavaliers pulled away to defeat the Heels 61-52.
Coach Tony Bennett allowed 15 seconds of celebration in the locker room after the game… but then it was back to the drawing boards as UVa prepares for Wake Forest on the road.
After the game, Kate Lee had a chance to talk with Virginia guard, Joe Harris. The junior contributed 19 points and 5 rebounds which helped lead the team on a 15-2 run in the second half to give the Cavaliers the momentum and lead they were able to preserve.
