Bradford Burgess helped lead Virginia Commonwealth to the 2011 Final Four.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Virginia Commonwealth forward Bradford Burgess was asked Friday to compare this year’s VCU team to the one that made the Final Four last season.
“Really, the only similarity is the name on the jersey,” Burgess said.
Last year VCU team was senior-laden and had plenty of guys who could score. That team was led by guys like Jamie Skeen, Joey Rodriguez and Brandon...
Trevor Graham scored 16 points and Bradford Burgess had a double-double to help Virginia Commonwealth defeat James Madison 65-45 on Thursday night.

Bradford Burgess scored 24 points, and Virginia Commonwealth weathered a second-half comeback bid by George Washington in a 75-60 victory Sunday in the BB&T Classic at the Verizon Center.
The Rams (5-3) let a 19-point lead dwindle to 62-56 with five minutes left before Darius Theus made a 3-pointer and a three-point play to put VCU up 68-58 with 3:56 to go.
Bradford Burgess couldn't take solace from the fact that VCU hung in there with No. 13 Alabama and his former coach for 36 minutes.
The final four minutes were what bothered him after the Rams fell 72-64 to the unbeaten Crimson Tide and Anthony Grant on Sunday night.
