Big Ten Basketball: Fighting Illini fall during Senior Night against Michigan
The Illini have had quite a disappointing season, but when you look at who they have played and when to me, it seems as though they play down to their competition.
This season, against ranked teams they are 4-5 heading into tonight match-up. This includes victories over opponents like No. 19 Gonzaga (on Dec. 3), and No. 5 Ohio State (on Jan 31).

Illini rebound with OSU upset, now ready for break
After a bad New Year's Eve loss to Purdue the sky appeared to be falling in on Illinois basketball.
But after a 79-74 upset of No. 5 Ohio State things are looking up.

Bruce Weber won his 200th game at Illinois as the Fighting Illini overcame an early deficit to pull out a victory at Maryland in the Big 10/ACC Challenge. Senior transfer Sam Maniscalco led the Illini with 24 points, including five big three point shots. He also showed the leadership necessary to hold his young team together at the finish.

Maniscalco Ready For Action, Health Permitted
The young Fighting Illini basketball team got a big boost when senior point guard Sam Maniscalco transferred in for a graduate program.
