Bernard Pierce and Adrian Robinson were both named to the All-Mid American Conference first team for the third consecutive year and were two of 10 Temple players named to one of the three all-MAC squads. The running back and defensive end become the first Temple players to achieve the feat since Temple joined the conference back in 2007.

Joining Pierce and Robinson on the first team were offensive lineman Pat Boyle and tight end Evan Rodriguez. Junior linebacker Tahir Whitehead and junior P/K Brandon McManus were named to the second team, while senior offensive lineman Wayne Tribue, junior running back Matt Brown, senior defensive end Morkeith Brown and senior safety Kevin Kroboth were named to the third team.

Pierce, the only junior of the four first-teamers, set new career highs in rushing yards (1381) and attempts (248) while setting the new school record for touchdowns in a season (25) and career (51).

Brown, who started several games in the middle of the season while Pierce was out with hamstring and concussion issues, added 867 yards and 5 touchdowns in addition to his punt and kick return duties.

Rodriguez and Boyle were both part of that rushing attack, though Rodriguez added 427 yards receiving and a pair of touchdown catches in Temple's run-heavy scheme.

Temple's 10 honorees were second-most in the conference this year, one behind the East division champion Ohio Bobcats. The school's four student-athletes on the first team were also second in the conference behind the five of the West division's Toledo Rockets.

Last year, eight Owls were named first-team all-MAC, which tied the school record that had been set the year before. 15 Owls were named to various all-MAC teams in 2009, which is still the school mark.

Temple went 8-4 this season, the first under new head coach Steve Addazio and the Owls are waiting on a bowl bid, with possible destinations including San Francisco and Washington, D.C. The bid will be announced on Dec. 4 at the Liacouras Center, with a free bowl selection party open to students and alumni.
