Define irony: A wide receiver that runs slower than his own quarterback. I think that qualifies.

Baylor Bears star signal-caller Robert Griffin III was faster than his own receiver Kendall Wright at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine in the 40-yard dash on Sunday morning.
The current Heisman Trophy winner posted unofficial times of 4.38 and 4.41 which topped Wright’s time of 4.45 and was one of the biggest trending topics on Twitter on Sunday morning. While it’s doubtful that Wright’s draft stock will dwindle too much from being outperformed by his quarterback, it does say something about Griffin’s amazing athleticism and Wright’s lack of a dazzling display.
At the end of the 2010 season Stanford star QB Andrew Luck said he would stay at Stanford for his senior season. Since then, many anticipated he would take home the Heisman hardware, perhaps lead the Cardinal to the National Championship and become the consensus No. 1 overall pick entering the 2012 NFL Draft i...

NFL Combine: A guide to why your favorite QB does not throw at the NFL Combine.
The NFL Combine as a televised event is still a relatively new thing. Factor in the fact that it’s shown live exclusively on the NFL Network which has only recently within the past three years become a option on most cable packages and you can see why to the casual fan some of what goes on there is confusing.
The most misunderstood concept is the reasoning behind why some Quarterbacks...

Robert Griffin III would love to beat Browns quarterback Colt McCoy
Colt McCoy and Robert Griffin III are not strangers, they have met before on the field of battle. In 2008 while the freshman quarterback of the Baylor Bears, RG3 (Griffin III) would suffer a whipping at the hands of McCoy, quarterback of the Texas Longhorns, throwing five touchdowns and 300 yards on the way to a 45-21 victory over Baylor. RG3 would love to go head to head with McCoy again!

There was his official time of 4.41 seconds in the 40-yard dash, fastest among quarterbacks, and the Heisman Trophy winner believes he ran even faster. And there were interviews with at least eight teams, including the Indianapolis Colts, who have the No. 1 draft pick...

Robert Griffin III was already rumored to be the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft behind only Andrew Luck. The only unknown was what team would select Griffin, as the St. Louis Rams have stated that they are going forward with Sam Bradford as their starting quarterback, and would actively shop the pick for a team looking to draft Griffin coming off of...
NFL Combine: Day two mid-day report: WRs and QBs.
It’s day two of the NFL Scouting Combine. There’s been several big developments already today, so we’re filing a mid-day report before we get into the RBs.
Stephen Hill’s sub 4.4 40 yard dash time started the day off with an early roar. It’s obvious that he has top level talent and if he is placed with a team with a great receiver coach, he can become one of the best...

When wide receivers run at the NFL Scouting Combine, everybody watches. Every year there are surprises and disappointments. That points the Rams away from Griffin, the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback...
