The East-West Shrine Game has proven to be the determining factor for small school prospects on draft day. Players last year such as Alfred Morris, Shaun Prater, and Jarius Wright have proven to be reliable players in the NFL, and all found their way through the East-West Shrine Game. The running backs in the East-West Shrine practices today focused on pass blocking. Utah State running back Kerwynn Williams comes in at 5'8 196 lbs. something you would not expect out of an exceptional pass blocker; well now is time to expect the unexpected. Williams has blazing speed (4.34 40), and is a killer in open space. Williams proved not only can he bust one at any moment, but he can also provide invaluable pass blocking skills. In the National Football league, if a running back can pass block, he will find his way onto any NFL roster, and see the field consistently. Iowa's Keenan Davis literally separated himself as a dominant receiver in the Shrine practices this week, and Wednesday was no exception. Davis excelled on interior routes, and showed great route definition on in breaking routes. Davis did an excellent job at catching away from his body, and while he did struggle on the outside, NFL teams will now know how to effectively use him in an offense.Wide receivers that did excel on outside routes were Eastern Kentucky's Tyrone Goard and Mississippi State's Chad Bumphis. Both were great on their vertical routes in my opinion, and showed that they could create separation deep down field. Goard's interior abilities left much to be desired however, and will need to work on that if he plans on being drafted come April. Part of the East-West Shrine Game is singling out small school prospects, which can make a difference on a NFL roster. Montana State's Caleb Schrebeis has proven to be an extreme sleeper at Shrine practices this week. Schrebeis is a speed edge rusher, who uses his long frame to separate from offensive tackles on the outside. Schrebeis used his hands extremely well, and stunted inside surprisingly quick for a 6'2 255 lbs. 4-3 defensive end.
