The 2013 NFL draft is already being talked about as having the fewest potential superstars in any draft in recent history. When the best quarterback is Geno Smith and he could fall out of the first round, you know things are a little different than what we have seen over the past decade. There is some debate as to the best running back in the 2013 draft. The majority opinion seems to be that Eddie Lacy out of Alabama, who backed up Trent Richardson, will be the first back taken this year. I have also seen Montee Ball from Wisconsin talked about as a better fit for a few teams and potentially the first back taken.Lacy actually may fall out of the first round all together because teams look at the overall value at the position and do not see a huge drop from Lacy to his counterparts. This is yet to be determined. What we can say with some certainty is that there are still a number of teams in the NFL that could use a workhorse back like Lacy to ground and pound the ball as a starter fr...
BEST OF MAXIM
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Alabama running back Eddie Lacy visited the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.
Lacy had a lackluster pro day just last week and several reported that he looked both unprepared and out of shape for it. He reportedly ran 4.57 and 4.60 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He measured in at 5110, 231 pounds and posted a 33.5 inch vertical...
Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart is receiving a hefty raise while boss Nick Saban's salary is staying put.
University trustees on Tuesday approved a three-year deal that would be worth $3.85 million for Smart. Saban's terms and salary remained the same except for performance bonuses changed to reflect a four-team playoff that will start in two seasons.
Alabama has established itself as a powerhouse for running backs in recent years with big names like Shaun Alexander, Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson headlining the list. With his play over the past two seasons, Eddie Lacy added his name to this prominent group, but will that translate to success at the next level? Here are five reasons Lacy’s success with the Crimson Tide will...
Who knew Alabama QB AJ McCarron was making big moves in the rap game, hanging out with Waka Flocka Flame and what not? We're diggin' it.
Alabama Coach Nick Saban said there were some good things in the Crimson Tide’s second scrimmage of the spring. “Probably mostly offensively,” he said. “I thought we did a really good job offensively.”
In last Saturday’s Alabama football scrimmage, upcoming sophomore wide receiver Amari Cooper had six receptions for 108 yards and four touchdowns. That sounded vaguely familiar. Ah! Alabama vs. Notre Dame: Amari Cooper six catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns.
Alabama Crimson Tide freshman running back Derrick Henry suffered a fractured tibia during the team's first Spring scrimmage.
The Alabama Crimson Tide kicked it with a familiar friend in President Barack Obama at the White House to celebrate the 2013 national championship.
Alabama’s baseball team needs to keep its eye on the task at hand. There’s nothing to be gained by looking back at the disappointing weekend in which Ole Miss swept the Crimson Tide, nor would it be productive to look ahead to the daunting specter of number two LSU coming to Tuscaloosa this weekend.
Here’s absolutely THE BOLDEST prediction for 2013 that you will ever encounter: Lacey will be among the NFL’s leading rushers as a rookie in the 2013 NFL season! Now, for the sake of all those literary perfectionists who have degrees (or quasi-degrees) from the University of Alabama, the name ‘Lacey’ was not misspelled. We’re not talking about the highly touted Crimson Tide...
