The University of Florida Gators suffered a humbling Sugar Bowl defeat at the hands of the Louisville Cardinals last night. In the wake of the defeat, two Gator defenders have announced that they will forgo their senior season at the university and will declare for the 2013 NFL Draft. DT Sharrif Floyd and S Matt Elam will declare themselves eligible for the draft held in April. Sharrif Floyd is projected by many analysts as a first-round selection. ESPN’s Mel Kiper has him listed as the 24th best prospect on the board overall in this year’s draft. He is a 6′ 3″ 303 defensive tackle that initally started his season as a defensive end. The move to the inside has paid off and he was an exceptional player on the interior part of the defenive line for the Gators this season. Floyd told reporters about his plans to enter the draft after the Sugar Bowl. “I’ve been playing football for a lot of years, so this is what football players get ready for and this is what we prepare to get to, so I...

2013 NFL Draft: Florida's Sharrif Floyd, Matt Elam Going Pro After Sugar Bowl Loss

College football is always full of surprises. Louisvile's control and domination of the Florida Gators through much of the Sugar Bowl was certainly the best surprise of the bowl season. Florida Says They Didn’t Overlook Louisville

Instead of giving Louisville the credit they deserve for coming out last night and completely owning the Florida Gators, you’ll hear some folks mention that Florida was “disinterested” in the game.
