Ohio State ended last season undefeated and the actual Big Ten Leaders division champions, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that OSU players dot our Preseason Top 25 Players list, but the name on it today may surprise a few who live year-to-year in there following of college football. 

Same for yesterday's player, Zac Epping, who emerged late in 2012 as a significant player on the offensive line. See a theme here? We're not going to blow smoke at you and there was a large amount of thought behind our staff votes. 

Speaking of that, before we get into the third Buckeye on our list, let us remind you of what criteria we used to make our Top 25 list. We used things like importance to your team, overall skill at your position, records set, past performance, conference honors (coaches, media, our list too), and the good old-fashioned eye test.

Having said that, let's get into a player who's best days may be ahead of him in 2013, barring injury of course.... 

No. 18: Jordan Hall (RB, Ohio State)

2012 stats/honors: 40 carries, 218 yards, 1 TD, 3 catches, 31 yards

What makes him worthy: This pick is admittedly a bit more looking at the past and projecting to the future than any other on the list, but there's good reason for that as Hall was off and on injured in 2012 and never really got rolling, but when he did he proved to be about as dynamic a player on offense as there was in the conference. 

He managed to compile the stats above in just three games, none better than against UAB when he had 17 carries for 105 yards. Hall also had 17 carries for 87 yards against Cal. So the talent is there to say the least.

You've probably heard this before, but think Percy Harvin when you think Jordan Hall, especially with Urban Meyer coaching the Buckeyes. His skill set fits nicely to that comparison. 

In his three previous years he's been a dynamic kick/punt return threat as well as a threat to run and catch the ball out of the backfield. If that doesn't remind you of Harvin I don't know what will. In 2010 he average over 68 yards a kick return for cryin' out loud. That's just simply ridiculous.

By season's end this ranking may end up being too low - especially if Hall stays healthy this time around. Expect him to be a very important part to what OSU does this season.
