  • You're forgetting the North Texas Mean Green

Other than that you had me stumped
    • I'll second that, I tried to enter the NORTH TEXAS MEAN GREEN for my last answer and it wouldn't let me. You think if you were going to set up a test like this, it would be accurate. Oh well.
    • 11/11.. that was hard tho.
  • FSUx407
    woo 100%, great quiz

North Texas Mean Green is D-1

  • toughest quiz I evr took. I guess I am a true fan as I got them all right. I also agree North Texas is the mean green so there should have been 12 slots.
  • North Texas was one of the first ones I put in. You should update this. North Texas is 1-A. The other ones mentioned in the replies: UMass, St. John's, Harvard, Cornell, and North Dakota are not D-1A. They are D-1 in other sports, but 1-A (now known as FBS) and 1-AA (now FCS) are classifications specific to football, and those five are all 1-AA (except St. John's, which doesn't even have football). None of those would be correct answers.
    • They're(NT) part of the Sun Belt conference, right?
  • North Texas mascot is not Mean Green. They are now the Eagles.

So, apologies to everyone for the confusion on North Texas. On some sites, they're listed as the "Mean Green Eagles" and on others, they're just the "Mean Green". It looks like the latter is official, so they should have been included here. It'll be fixed on the next version of this quiz. Thanks everyone.
  • Astroal
I think it is the Syracuse Orangemen.
  • cuse is no longer referred to as the orangemen.
  • Astroal
slurpees - Thanks, I guess I am a little out of touch.
  • I got screwed up by this quiz when I repeatedly typed in Tulane Green Wave. WTF?!?
  • Paradise
    What about St Johns?
    • lbr218
      Division 1-A. St. John's isn't in D1-A because they don't field a football team.
  • 8/11 - missed syracuse, stanford and tulsa but got lucky with nevada when i typed wolfpack for nc state
  • shaned25
if you guys want to go by the teams that are used in ncaa 2009, than north texas should be included because they are called the mean green in that, and the other schools mentioned are not even in the game so the one guy was right about them not being FBS

Six. Notre Dame saved me. But then again, I'm a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, so what do I know?
  • 10 out of 11. Missed Nevada. Hmmm...where do I live? Nevada. How lame is that?
  • Fighton 50: Stanford is called the Cardinal, as in the color.
BigXIIRocks: Ball State is called the Cardinals, as in the bird.
    • I think the Cardinal refers to a type of Evegreen tree. Is that correct?
