As early as it is into the 2007-2008 NBA season I'm going to 'go out on a limb' and make my pick for this season's Rookie of the Year. I know the title of this post sort of gives things away; and while I'd love to be controversial and say that Jeff Green would edge out his rookie teammate for the honors, I have little doubt that Kevin Durant is going to end the season as this year...

Jeremy Mayfield had been rumored to be talking to Haas CNC Racing, which signed Scott Riggs last week after Jeff Green decided not to return to the #66 and signed with another team, according to a source. Why would Green leave a team on the rise with owner points he worked for? It would have to be a team he thought had greater potential and could overcome not having owner points...

Kevin Durant had a solid game with 26 points on 10 of 23 shooting. Nick Collison had 8 points and 15 rebounds. Earl Watson 16 points 8 assists, and Damien Wilkins had 14 points.
Jeff Green finished the game at -40 in plus/minus. Wow.

Offseason Movement: The team acquired forwards Desmond Mason and Joe Smith as part of the three-way trade that sent Luke Ridnour to the Bucks. Basically, it was a salary dump, as Mason and Smith are both in the final years of their contracts. They'll back up Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox, respectively.
