It gets worse because these were kids that he was purportedly helping through his philanthropic endeavors, and it gets even worse because a witness reported encountering said sexual abuse at Penn State facilities. The above image is a student gathering at Paterno’s house last night, as a hundred or so Nittany Lions fans showed up to support the embattled 84-year old. Many people have argued that they should have showed up to storm his castle gates, and I can understand the outrage. And that’s where our discussion is going to end today. Being that this is primarily a sports humor blog, there aren’t really any jokes that I feel comfortable making about th...

Justice is Served at Penn State

I still remember seeing Joe Paterno deceive the public. In late June of last year, I was flipping through channels and I happened upon an ESPN special called, “Difference Makers:  Life Lessons with Paterno and Krzyzewski,” a program that was exactly what it sounded like:  Joe Pa and Coach K sitting and talking about morality, coaching, family and ethics from the saintly pedestals...

Penn State suffered its first decommitment since the firing of Joe Paterno when ESPNU 150 offensive tackle Joey O'Connor of Windsor, Colo., backed away from his pledge Thursday evening.

Column: They did Paterno wrong

The only thing people love more than watching a star claw his way to the top is watching him fall. So add Joe Paterno's name to a far-from-complete list of athletes who plummeted from grace in recent years: Tiger Woods, Michael Vick, O.J. Simpson, Magic Johnson and Barry Bonds. Their sins were not the same, nor were their fates. But they were all banished to a kind of purgatory...

10 protest against Penn State, 1,500 students rally in support

David Baran, a Penn State graduate, is so disgusted with his alma mater that he staged a rally on Tuesday on the steps of Old Main to protest the Jerry Sandusky scandal and to showcase his distaste about the way Penn State handled the sex abuse charges. Baran pulled out his diploma, then a lighter, and set his degree ablaze for everyone to see. The one problem, only 10 supporters...
