For most football fans the ACC stands for Atlantic Coast Conference, however Clemson Tigers fans know ACC stands for Another Clemson Collapse. As seems to be par for the course when Clemson is in a big game, under pressure, and expected to win, the team falls apart.
In their Orange Bowl game against West Virginia, Clemson scored first and scored 17 points in the first quarter, however, after the first quarter Clemson would only score 16 points the rest of the way. What caused this latest collapse is the same thing that haunted Clemson during the end of the regular season, turnovers, the inability to play well when getting behind in the game and sloppy defense.
The first turnover came in the second quarter as Clemson was about to score, when a freak play ended with Clemson running back Andre Ellington being stripped of the football, and West Virginia running the ball back 99 yards for the touchdown.
If Clemson had scored on that play the score would have been 24-21, bu...
BEST OF MAXIM
We typically don’t give college players too much grief when they misspeak and mention money. However, the comments made by junior tight end Dwayne Allen after Wednesday night’s disastrous loss in the Orange Bowl warrant our attention.
Answering questions about his future, Allen said one of the reasons he doesn’t need to go pro is because he’s financially comfortable at Clemson...
Not much went right for the Clemson Tigers in last night’s Orange Bowl. The 70-33 final score indicates that. Per ESPN Stats & Info West Virginia set or tied 9 bowl records. Some of them were: most team TD’s (tied) (10), most points scored (70), most points in a quarter (35) and half [...]
I’m not a negative guy. I don’t like to write negative blog posts, but each ACC bowl game result seemed to get worse as the post season continued. Teams that lacked effort, questionable coaching decisions close losses, blowouts, on and on, but the bottom fell out Wednesday night in one spectacular meltdown by the Clemson Tigers in the Orange Bowl.
West Virginia scored 70 points...
This guy thinks wearing the “Clemson Grandparent” shirt and writing ESPN on his arm makes him the life of the party. It doesn’t but nice neck beard man. The Clemson Tigers and the West Virginia Mountaineers faced off in Miami for the Discover Orange Bowl. Basically, the entire crowd was filled with rednecks in stupid outfits. Clemson All-America tight end Dwayne Allen is heading to the NFL. The school said Friday night that Allen would give up his senior season to enter the draft. Allen had 50 catches for 598 yards and eight touchdowns, all single-season records for tight ends at Clemson. He helped the Tigers (10-4) win their first Atlantic Coast Conference championship in 20 years.
Andre Ellington ran 68 yards for a touchdown, Sammy Watkins had his 12th scoring reception of the season and Clemson took a 17-14 lead over West Virginia after one high-octane quarter of the Orange Bowl on Wednesday night. Chandler Catanzaro had a 42-yard field goal late in the quarter for Clemson, the Atlantic Coast Conference champion.

Simple enough. West Virginia running back Andrew Buie made a great play to realize that he didn't touch the ground on this play. It's pretty impressive to say the least.
This play is pretty similary to Michael Dyer’s play last season for Auburn against Oregon.
MIAMI - The Clemson Tigers have waited 30 years to return to South Florida for an Orange Bowl berth.
Wide receiver Germone Hopper is spending his week in San Antonio impressing on the field and recruiting for the Clemson Tigers when off.

The Orange Bowl was close for about a quarter before West Virginia defensive back Darwin Cook changed everything.
West Virginia was leading 21-17 early in the second quarter when Clemson running back Andre Ellington was at the Mountaineers' goal line looking like he was going to give the lead back to the Tigers. But all of a sudden Cook emerged with the football and started...
