They say that winning solves everything. However, even after the Ducks’ 24-point victory over Washington State, Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Allioti had a problem — with WSU head coach Mike Leach. The issue? Allioti didn’t like that Leach kept his starters in the entire game, and made his quarterback keep throwing even in the final seconds of a blowout.
Is there anything wrong with playing until the final whistle? Maybe not, but Cougars quarterback Connor Halliday attempted 89 passes (!!!), setting a new NCAA record. Allioti accused Leach of playing for stats — here is some of what he had to say, courtesy of OregonLive.com:
