A.J. McCarron’s chest tattoo has reached some sort of folklore status. When the Alabama quarterback’s ink job first appeared on the Internet last summer, the reactions were strong. Our own Steve DelVecchio called it “just embarrassing.” Others described it in far worse ways.
We later came to find out that the tattoo actually had some strong personal meaning for McCarron. We had also heard that McCarron added to it, but there were no photographs to support such claims. Until now.
Outkick the Coverage posted the above picture on Saturday of McCarron’s chest tattoo, which has undergone several additions. A cross now hangs at the bottom of the design, and plenty of ink was added to both sides. The phrase “Home team” appears on McCarron’s right pectoral, while the words “God in control” is to the left.
Call me crazy, but I actually think it looks better now.
Here’s what it looked like before:
The tattoo has been updated since at least the summer, which is when a girl apparently snap...
BEST OF MAXIM
Crimson Tide QB AJ McCarron first unveiled this epic chest tattoo in the Summer of 2011, and he has since made some additions to it. It looks as though he has now added a giant dove, the words “God in Control,” “Home Team” and MVP, a dangling cross necklace and rosaries. This is definitely a unique tattoo, and one that looks like it was very painful to get.I feel like...
We’ve been waiting for further visual evidence of Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron’s chest tattoo and it’s finally here. Thanks to Clay Travis, we’ve finally found the second iteration of the chest tattoo. The first one was just a picture of what looks like Jesus crying that didn’t take up the whole chest. Now we have the addition of “MVP”, “Home Team”...
An image of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron's infamous chest tattoo, rarely seen in its full hideous glory found its way onto the internet over the weekend. McCarron may seem all Southern gentleman charm with those bow ties he so frequently pimps. But rip the shirt off and his inner redneck shines bright like a diamond.

WERE HIS PANTS ON FIRE?
When discussing if Nick Saban would ever return to the NFL, Ron Jaworski admitted he's not a fan of the Alabama head coach, saying, “I think he lied to the Miami Dolphins."
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Southeastern Conference won't suspend Alabama defensive end Quinton Dial for a hit on Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray.
The league said in a statement Friday that it had reviewed video of that play and others in the SEC championship game and that the two schools would handle any punishments internally.
Dial leveled Murray during a second-quarter interception...
Alabama vs. Notre Dame BCS Championship must see hype video posted. The final college football matchup for the 2012-13 season, BCS No. 1 Notre Dame vs BCS No.2 Alabama, definitely brings back an old school feel to college football. Most experts are picking Alabama to win, but many are predicting it will be a closer game than the opening line spread. Both teams in the 2013 BCS National...
Alabama’s basketball season has barely begun, but already it appears to be in a death spiral. After back-to-back NCAA Tournament teams in 2011 and 2012, there was cautious optimism that Coach Anthony Grant had the Crimson Tide on the right path.
The University of Alabama gets a lot of favorable notice for excellent graduation rates of athletes. That success continues Saturday when The University has its winter commencement. More than 30 Crimson Tide athletes are scheduled to receive degrees in Saturday's exercise.
