What’s the best way to troll a school after you’ve just won the BCS National Championship? Obviously it’s to drive down to Gainesville, grab your iPad and shaker, put on your Crimson colors, and take a picture with Florida’s “Bull Gator”. Alabama has basically dominated Florida after the 2008 SEC Championship and destroyed Florida last year in The Swamp after an initial bomb from John Brantley to Andre Debose. I guess this guy just needed more closure.

Alabama Crimson Tide long snapper Carson Tinker gave head coach Nick Saban a hug after the former walk-on was told he’s getting a full athletic scholarship. “I gave him a hug,” Tinker said. “I think that made him feel a little awkward.” Tinker was literally thrown into the national spotlight by an F-5 tornado that ripped through Tuscaloosa last year. He and his girlfriend...
College Football News: Injuries Piling Up In Fall Practices
Unlike the NFL, there are no preseason games in college football. Many seem to think that avoiding those exhibition games can prevent injuries but even without the live action, a number of players are finding themselves on the infirmary reports.
South Carolina has again lost cornerback Akeem Auguste and...
According to the Gainesville Sun, Florida Gators tight end has returned to practice after spraining a knee last week.
“He’s fine. He’s practicing,” offensive coordinator Brent Pease said.
Reed played in 11 games for the Gators last season, including 10 starts. He caught 28 passes for 307 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.
It is important that Reed stays healthy for...
The Florida Gators don’t. Or if they do, they’re not telling us.
Speculation has reached new levels as everyone eagerly awaits the announcement of the starting quarterback. For years, it has been a clean handoff. From Chris Leak to Tim Tebow to John Brantley, it was obvious (painfully at times) who the next starter would be. That appeared to be the case when Jeff Driskel originally...
Jesse Williams could be No. 2 Alabama's new Terrence Cody.
Like Cody, Williams is a massive, colorful and popular noseguard from the junior college ranks charged with plugging the middle of the Crimson Tide's defensive line and monopolizing multiple blockers.
The heavily tattooed Australian is filling the role that turned Cody into a college football celebrity at a position...
Long snapper Carson Tinker will play his final season for No. 2 Alabama on scholarship.
Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban told the former walk-on he was getting a full scholarship on Tuesday. Tinker was thrust into the spotlight last April by tragedy. His girlfriend, Ashley Harrison, was killed by a tornado after both were thrown about 50 yards from the closet where they huddled.
Sorry, but if you’re siblings and have names that rhyme, this is what happens.*
Junior Trey Burton and his younger brother sophomore Clay Burton are lining up on the same side of the ball this season and are looking forward to it. Not only may they see the field at the same time, they may actually line up next to each other. The Florida Gators have run out some looks with Trey...
Florida Gators freshman tight end Colin Thompson will miss at least two months after having a second surgery to repair a fractured bone in his right foot. The time missed may lead to a redshirt season for the incoming TE. Missing that much time early in your first season puts you behind the learning curve and Thompson will miss plenty of practice experience during those two months...
QUICK HITS: Alabama coach Nick Saban addressed the importance of starting to prepare for Michigan, how the injured players are coming along, the progression of JUCO transfer cornerback Deion Belue and the battle for the third starting defensive line spot.
Fifth year senior defensive tackle Omar Hunter has seen a lot in his time at Florida. He knows the last couple of years have been tough ones for his team and the fans that follow the Florida Gators. The veteran believes this year will be different and a lot of it has to do with the maturity of his team and they way they have gone about conducting their business.
With a few years behind him, Florida’s redshirt junior offensive lineman Jon Halapio has witnessed a great deal of success and failure at the University of Florida. Halapio’s experience allows him to evaluate the many changes that have taken place in Gainesville. Based on what he has seen during fall camp, Halapio is convinced that Florida’s offensive line will be significantly...
Nick Saban said one of the most important goals to achieve in fall camp is building depth in the secondary after losing three staters from last year's unit. But Alabama lost two more defensive backs during camp and Saban is now calling on youngsters to develop quickly to provide more depth.
According to junior defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd, fall camp has been mutually beneficial for the offensive and defensive linemen. Although Floyd feels very comfortable at defensive tackle, he has noticed that the offensive linemen have progressed a lot since last season. Without the depth chart woes, the Gators have been able to get more physical reps in during fall camp.
After becoming one of the Crimson Tide's most recognizable faces due to his involvement in community service after the 2011 tornado, and after taking on a vocal leadership role on the team, long snapper Carson Tinker has been rewarded with a scholarship.
