Birmingham defense lawyer and Alabama football fanatic Marcus Jones III will get to go to Miami to see his beloved Crimson Tide take on Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship Game because a judge decided to delay a trial. Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Scott Vowell issued a continuance for a Jan. 7 civil trial that Jones was involved in. “While I remain an Auburn fan, even after this dismal season, I hate to see an Alabama man cry,” Judge Vowell told The Birmingham News. “I have, therefore, reluctantly agreed to grant the lawyers a short continuance.”
